Qantas Economy Plus Launching Feb 2026

I had the same with a flight BNE-MEL during the booking process, no seat selection possible (error)
However, once booked, I could select seats as normal.

I've just checked a few bookings and my goodness, Qantas seat selection has become complex.

Looking at my CDG-PER-MEL flight in June, CDG-PER on the 789 has three categories of 'forward zone' seats (only two of which are free as SG), while on PER-MEL there are now two categories of Economy Plus (brown up the front which now start at row 7 rather than row 8, green for the exit rows; row 6 is not visible) and two categories of forward zone. As a SG, the blue economy plus in row 4 is not visible.

I’m seeing the new 737 Y+ as mentioned earlier plus the old now showing as this (inside T-80).

Just out of interest I checked my flight for tomorrow and they have another different colour for row 4 until economy plus launches.

Weird having Econ Plus in Rows 17 and 18. Had anyone noticed they had more room. Assume it's more to do with window and exit rows alignments.

I checked a day or two ago and rows 4 and 5 were blocked on this 737 (as was normal for a WP up to T-80).

I check again today and row 5 is unblocked, but row 4 is still blocked. Flight in 3 weeks time.

Possibly there is a method to this seat blocking and unblocking but it looks like madness to me.

Cheers skip

When Y+ started rippling thru the system the other day, Row 5 became unblocked. A few of us jumped and moved forward. The next day, Row 5 was blocked again but our new seats stuck.

I can see now that Row 5 is unblocked again. I hadn’t actually noticed that when I was looking earlier today.

Similarly, 2nd row of AY config A330 is unblocked again.

The press release and website also now clarify a few details, mainly;
1) Status holders eligible for complimentary economy plus receive it for themselves and up to 8 others on the booking;
2) Economy plus will board with group 2.
