as long as you got the offer and registered i can't see why they wouldn't ...

The only thing thats making me doubt it is the line "when you register, book and travel." I'll call up the call centre and ask.
 
I can't see the issue:

1. If you got the offer, you register
2. If the booking is in your name, irrespective of who pays with points/cash/hybrid, then you get the points & SC's (DSC's if it meets the T&C's - carrier, fare basis, dates)

Hi All,

Just wanted to clarify some of the points discussed recently.

Targeting: As I mentioned earlier, only selected members are eligible for this promotion.

There are two ways to register:
1. Click on your email link – this method does not require you to log-in but sends a message to your QFF profile to register you (this process is just a bit easier than having to log in).
2. You can visit www.qantas.com/bonusapril then log into your profile – This method will provide you with a confirmation email but is a little more involved. It will also confirm that you have been selected for the promotion.

So, if you were not selected for the promotion, you will not be able to register and you will not be eligible to earn double Status credits.

Registration confirmation: If you are at all concerned that your registration has been accepted, visit www.qantas.com/bonusapril and register again, this will send an email to you. I can assure you though, that selected members who have clicked on their email are registered – no harm in making doubly sure!

Crediting of Status credits: The bonus Status credits should start appearing from early next week. I am confident that within minutes of this happening there will be a post about it, I wonder who will pick it up first.

Status bonus points for members who attain tier mid itinerary: If you qualify for a higher tier (Gold for instance) on one flight sector, you will start earning the Gold Status bonus points on the next flight sector you travel on. There will be a points adjustment if you are credited points at a lower tier when you should have been at a higher level. If you have any questions or wish to check on particular flights, please call the Service Centre.

I understand everyone wants to be clear on how the promotion will work so I hope this answers your questions.

Well Monday and Tuesdays flights bonus points posted this afternoon. Now just waiting till today's flights post and the bonus points post and I will be Gold :) and with trips that I am aware coming up in the next 2 months but not yet booked WP is looking highly possible :D

Just booked myself a JASA. After that double SCs and SCs flying CX J to europe in July, I'll hit WP for the first time too! :-D
 
Hmmm... just had the double SCs post for flights taken on Apr 30...

Apr 30 was also my review date, and Red Roo previously confirmed that the double SCs would be treated as earned on the flight date, not on the crediting date, when a change of membership year occurs between the two. However, my activity statement now shows:

The flights are treated as earned on the travel date (thus the
icon_double_dagger.gif
symbol indicating that they were earned in the previous membership year, but were credited in May). However, both dates on the double SC transactions show May, so the system has treated them as being earned under the new year (as my summary page shows "Status credits earned from 01 May 2012: 120")... Has it been mentioned somewhere that this would self-correct, or should I send off a PM or give someone a call today? ... I just didn't want to contact QF again unless necessary, as they will no doubt already be experiencing higher demand to their call centres due to the promotion. :)

April 30 was my reassessment date too. You should by now find that the bonus SCs posted in May gone from the new membership year, and you start with zero. Click on 'Your Summary' after you log on to your account.

Just checked, and the summary page still shows the 120 as earned in the new membership year. I'll give it a couple of days and see what happens! :)

I am unsure as to how recipients for the email offer are selected.
Have been 9 years WP and never (nope not once!!) ever received any offer for points, status credits or even an Op Up and yet for the past 9 years all of my SC's have been earned on QF metal.

In our office this past three weeks we have four previous QF customers who have flown VA for the past 2 years and yet they all received the magical email with the double SC's... I am very open to suggestions from you technically competent gurus as I would like to receive even one little offer from the QF people, even if it is a 3/4 full bottle of wine (whine??) from a flight that was leftover

Methinks that one strategy may be to defer all future trave to CX or BA which may show up on the Oneworld QF big brother computer as a former metal earner but as always I defer to more smarter people in this area than me

RescuePilot I am on double SCs for 3 months but 3 of my runs were booked prior so they did not count.
On QF I expect little so this double SC was a surprise as that had not ever happened before.
If there was a secret to getting special treatment I would tell you if I knew.

I've been a WP for nearly as long as you & this was the first offer I've ever had. I also fly CX & BA with all points deposited to my QF account so I'm not sure that makes any difference.

as a sidenote i've thought a few times i was getting a 3/4 full bottle, only to find upon unwrapping it is a freshy .. not very classy to send you home with the dreggs ....
