Qantas Delays/Cancellations

From above

Should have been obvious 5 minutes after landing (or 15 minutes before) the A220 could not use the an airbridge. So go and get some manual stairs from Air NZ over at AKL domestic. Should be in the planning for diversions, CHC may have been no better. The NZ govt bureaucracy would not have helped.

Given Auckland Airport is a publicly listed company (including on the ASX), what does 'NZ govt bureaucracy' have to do with it? Air NZ is also publicly listed.

Also on Sunday 28 June 2026, QF7, the 1200 'high noon' SYD to DFW with A388 VH-OQB did not take off until 1327 hours, so same day gate arrival should be 1300, half an hour late.

A332 VH-EBR is on QF43, the afternoon 1620 hours SYD-DPS in the sky at 1741 for a 2154 hours gate arrival forecast, 64 minutes late.

On Monday 29 June 2026, A388 VH-OQH arrived from LAX as QF12 into its SYD gate at 0702 hours, 28 minutes early.

However its next working, QF7 from Sydney for the long haul to Dallas-Fort Worth is the 1200 'high noon' altered to depart at 2030 hours. This is OQH's second significant delay in three flights as on Saturday's QF93 from MEL to LAX it arrived at 0940 instead of 0705 hours.

Today: more maintenance required?

Speaking of QF93, today's 0945 hours MEL-LAX has A388 VH-OQL that took off at 1125, so same day gate arrival should be about 0746 hours, 41 late.

QF29 (A333 VH-QPF) is the scheduled 1015 hours MEL-HKG up up and away at 1112 hours with likely gate arrival early this evening Chinese time at 1834 hours, 39 minutes late.

Not sure why QPF was late in departure as 29 to HKG - as it arrived early as QF 36 from SIN this morning at 0511 instead of 0535. Unless the weather in Melbourne might have a little impact? Otherwise it wont make sense.

As noted above, QF7 on Monday 29 June 2026 is badly late.

A388 VH-OQH departed at 2104 hours, 544 minutes late,. Takeoff was at 2118 hours. Same day DFW gate arrival should be at about 2100 hours.

This will make it hard for the Monday 29 2255 hours DFW-SYD QF8 to punctually depart. Unlikely that the A380 can be turned around in two hours.

On Monday 29 June, the hugely delayed QF7 from SYD to DFW (A388 VH-OQH) landed in Texas at 2052, and stabled at the gate at 2057 (1157 30 June AEST)., 507 minutes late.

The race is on to have something akin to a punctual departure for QF8, the scheduled 2255 hours back down and across to SYD.

A333 VH-QPK on the Tuesday 30 QF81 (1020 hours SYD-SIN) took off at 1123 hours with gate arrival forecast as 37 late at 1732 hours.

The 1015 hours MEL-HKG (A333 VH-QPI) is again delayed, having become airborne at 1128 for likely arrival tonight at 1836 hours, 41 behind.

The QF29 delay today - I would not completely blame QF for it as the weather is poor today

On Tuesday 30 June 2026, the delayed 2255 hours DFW down to SYD QF8 (A388 VH-OQH) took off at 0019 hours. SYD gate arrival on Wednesday 1 July should be about 0735 hours, 40 minutes late.

QF27 (B789 VH-ZNF) is the lunchtime 1220 hours SYD across to SCL that on Tuesday 30 was not airborne until 1330 hours. Gate arrival same day should be 1130, also 40 late.

Wednesday 1 July sees QF81, the 1020 hours SYD-SIN (A333 VH-QPL) estimated to depart 90 minutes late, shortly, at 1150 hours. QPL had a day off yesterday, presumably for maintenance.

Sister -QPI is rostered on QF29, the scheduled 1015 hours MEL-HKG altered to depart at 1210 hours. This is optimistic, becauser it arrived at the MEL gate at 1055 hours, 215 minutes late as QF30 also from HKG overnight. Another one for @tomlee1986

Another A333, -QPC is on QF79, the 0935 hours from MEL up to NRT in Japan. It has been changed to depart at 1154 hours. It arrived MEL this morning at 0842 hours, 62 minutes late as QF80 from NRT.

-QPE is to operate QF59, the 1115 hours SYD-HND also in Japan, with a changed hoped for departure at 1200 'high noon'.

Not a good day for the ageing QFi A333 fleet.

A332 VH-EBR is on QF51, the 1105 hours BNE-SIN airborne at 1147 hours with forecast gate arrival 1757 hours, 32 behind.

Thanks for the update and let’s see how much the damage - that departure is highly optimistic , my prediction is 1300 departure if lucky

On Tuesday 30 June, QF1 from SYD to SIN arrived at 2146 hours, 31 minutes late with A388 VH-OQB. The second sector to LHR did not take off until 0156 hours on Wednesday 1 July so LHR gate arrival is a forecast 0809 hours, 94 minutes late.

The 1 July QFi has -OQK. It is expected to depart two hours late at 1645 this afternoon.

QF81 on 1 July was actually in the sky at 1212 hours so it should arrive at its SIN gate at about 1821 hours, 86 minutes behind schedule.

A332 VH-EBP on the 1225 hours lunchtime SYD-MNL (QF19) took off at 1347 with a 1951 hours arrival forecast tonight, 71 minutes late.
