Qantas Delays/Cancellations

Monday 18 February's QF36 departed SIN only three minutes behind time, at 1943 hours but Tuesday 19 MEL arrival was 0630, half an hour late.

Also on Monday, the delayed QF63 arrived JNB at 1836 hours, 121 minutes behind schedule. QF64, the redeye, then pushed back at 2030, 100 late. As forecast above, time will be gained on a gate-to-gate basis so SYD arrival on Tuesday 19 afternoon should be at 1644, 69 late.

Could be interesting in SYD today.

Chance of a thunderstorm, winds picking up in the afternoon from 20-30 to 40kph....

Anyone know whats going on with all the equipment changes on QF29/QF30 lately? Scheduled to fly QF29 Saturday in PY... if PY exists on the flight

A 789 (VH-ZNG) was out of action for 3.5 weeks after a collision with either (depending on who tells the story) a catering truck or maintenance stairs. It seems to have re-entered service 2 days ago and has done 2 and a bit MEL-HKG rotations so far.

VH-ZNG - Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner - Qantas - Flightradar24

And to mention another QFi morning flight ex MEL, QF79 on Tuesday 19 February (the 0920 hours) departed 46 late with arrival estimated at 1826 early this evening Japanese time, also 46 late. For the fourth consecutive day - unusual - A333 VH-QPF has the task.

The next in QF's flight sequence for outbounds, QF81 is normally the 1130 hours SYD - SIN at this time of year. It's become a 1320 hours estimated departure today, with arrival likely at 1825, 100 minutes tardy.

Also on 19 February, there's yet another B744 delay with QF27 (1250 hours SYD - SCL) estimated to depart 55 late. At this stage SCL arrival is predicted as 1335, 25 minutes behind schedule.

In more on Tuesday 19 February, the often punctual QF11 departed SYD 42 late at 1152 with LAX arrival suggested as 0634, 34 late.

Later, QF1515 (1535 hours SYD - CBR short hop with B717 VH-YQW) took off at 1649 with arrival suggested at 1723, 53 late. Another unpunctual flight on this route.

Yeah, but tomorrow/Thursday are showing 330! Makes me feel like they are still short of B787 somehow and may change it at the last minute
It’s always a 330 on Wednesdays as they rotate the 787 through Brisbane so QF97 is 787 on a Wednesday.

QF474 (B738 VH-VZX, the 1815 hours MEL - SYD on Tuesday 19 February) took off at 1903 with arrival at 2013 hours, 33 late.

The 1915 hours BNE down to CBR, QF1553 (B717 VH-YQV) was in teh sky at 2018 so arrival is suggested as 2250 hours, 45 late.

The 2000 hours SIN down to BNE redeye, often punctual, is not tonight with departure estimated at 2230 hours. Wednesday 20 arrival should be 0830 hours, 155 minutes tardy.

This has become worse. This QF64D is predicted to depart JNB at 1500 hours on Monday 18 February (midnight tonight AEDT) and make an intermediate stop in PER from 0535 to 0630 hours before arriving SYD on Tuesday 19 at 1330, so it will be about 46 hours late.

Meanwhile, on Monday 18, QF465 (B738 VH-VZW) is arriving MEL (ex SYD) half an hour late at 2105 hours.
QF64 ended up getting cancelled and the aircraft positioned back to Sydney via Perth without passengers.

Sunday’s QF8 diverted to BNE on Tuesday morning, and then positioned to Sydney without passengers.

I am seeing reports that QF72 Sin-Per has diverted to Jakarta with mechanical issues today (19/2/2019). I am interested as we are taking QF72 tomorrow night and am wondering about possible delays etc.. Has anyone got any more information?

A332 VH-EBL took off from CGK on Wednesday 20 February at 2234 and warived in PER at 0321, 171 minutes late. Whether it needs further attention in Perth is the question.

Often on weekdays the aircraft for QF71/QF72 comes across from Melbourne as QF485. Ar other times the Singapore flight has the same plane for a couple of days.

Although Tuesday 19 February's QF23 (A332 VH-EBP) arrved in BKK only three minutes tardy at 1613 hours, the returning redeye QF24 was again late, departing at 1935 hours in lieu of the timetabled 1800. SYD arrival on Wednesday 20 should be at 0844 hours, 74 late.

The Wednesday QF23 (1030 hours ex SYD for BKK) is expected to depart half an hour late.

Although Tuesday's QF28 only departed SCL 15 minutes late at 1350 hours, its Wednesday arrival is predicted as 1822, 42 late.

QF423 (1000 hours SYD down to MEL) departed at 1037 so arrival will be about half an hour late.

QF129, the 1055 hours SYD midmorning to PVG was displaying an hour ago as only delayed for 20 minutes out of Sydney, so it wasn't included here, but unfortunately the expected delay has risen to an hour for pushback. This will put arrival back to 1915 hours (45 late) and mean that the rdeye tonight, QF130, pushes back late.

OZDUCK, to add to the above, QF71 is expected to be punctual ex PER today, and normally forms QF72 from SIN.

As we all know things can go wrong at any time for airlines, but QF71/QF72 are not among QF's least punctual flights: quite often, they are early. Just watch how the departure of QF71 goes. Fingers crossed it'll be uneventful.

UPDATE: QF71 on Tuesday 20 should be just five minutes late arriving in SIN at 1755 hours.

And, thanks again. We have no need to rush back - except to pick up our Granddaughter from school late tomorrow arvo. I was just a bit intrigued.
