If the email address is legitimate, then there's no concern then. It's just that it said the operating system was Linux which I don't use but I have VPN on so that might be the reason. Thanks

Has anyone else received an email supposedly from Qantas with the email address [email protected]
Is this a genuine Qantas email address?
I received one alerting me to unusual login on my account and response buttons for "yes this was me" and "no this wasn't me".
I was wondering if it's a malicious email and not to respond.

I've had these before, often a few seconds after I log in!

I get these constantly. If I click the "yes this was me" button I often get an error message response.

Bit alarming this morning to get usual trash junk mail from QF but noticed ALL of my status credits had gone. Membership still current and had recent flights (not using SC). Is there a dedicated QF contact avenue to resolve this as the standard AI site queries do not fit the issue.

You can’t spend status credits, they reset to zero each membership year.

The only thing that happens to status credits is that they expire. If this has happened, there will be an entry on your activity statement about that.

Because people died being unable to call 000. Again. They've simply moved onto the next big "scandal", and let's be honest, it's not like anyone died as a result of the Qantas breach.

Maybe they are getting free flights so don't want to rock the boat. I find the MSM media don't follow up a number of things that should be highlighted

Because it's unlawful for anyone to use the data - which would include reporting on the content of the stolen data, thanks to the permanent injunction.

What else is there for the media to report on?

But it might have come as a surprise when the ID protection company Equifax this month began alerting Qantas customers that their data had been leaked – since access to the data was supposedly banned.

This highlights the major flaw in the injunction scheme. Qantas argues the injunction protects customers, but cybersecurity experts warn that in practice it has the opposite effect: scammers will ignore it, while organisations based in Australia and operating within the law will not be able to verify the data and report on it.
