QANTAS considering splitting Domestic and International QF

Would it not just be cheaper and simpler (sounds almost like QF's vocab) to have a board and CEO resignation???

I'm sure things would start looking much more positive then they could try this more complicated stuff...

To attract more foreign capital, QF is considering a number of options for a cash boost.

Qantas considers domestic-international split

Super!

Suggestions for the Domestic and International companies?

How about Trans Australia Airlines ( let's call it TAA) for the Domestic one, and Qantas for the international?

Remember, you heard it here, um, first (-ish).

More likely Emirates Australia and Jetstar.

Vale Qantas

A great airline that lost its bearings

OMG, the drama ! ;)

It seems to me (or am I misreading the linked article?) that QF are merely speculating on coming up with a more favourable corporate structure (as they well should), in line with the way VA has very cleverly, or some would say cutely, structured their domestic and international operations. We already have QF Link, Cobham and Jetconnect operating services under the QF brand, so I don't think a change in the way domestic and international ops are structured is going to be quite as dramatic as some of the above posts seems to imply.

I have no doubt it will all be corporate account trickery and mastery. We (the customers and public) will continue to hear about Qantas being a premium airline offering global destinations.

Yeah, belongs under Qantas group of threads. merger time.

I'm pondering this is more about the Qantas Sale Act and foreign ownership % (see. VA Holdings and associated financial structure)......
