Do Qantas have codeshare flights to Danang ,Vietnam from Melbourne.
QF is offering single ticket with protected bags via BKK, connecting with Vietnam airlines. CX also flies via HKG.Nothing on Qantas, although the earn isn’t quite so decimated now were you to book MH via KUL.
That said, I just flew out of DAD and booked MEL-SIN return on QF and seperate flights on VietJet. Their SkyBoss offering is actually decent for a 2.5 hour flight.
Please note that CX does NOT fly to Da Nang.QF is offering single ticket with protected bags via BKK, connecting with Vietnam airlines. CX also flies via HKG.
Thanks for that! Yes, they don’t fly their own metal, but they codeshare on HK Airlines. Please note that CX does NOT fly to Da Nang.
By which you mean HK Express?HK Airlines
Yes! Soz.By which you mean HK Express?
BKK-DAD-BKK on Emirates can be had in economy from about AUD200 return. It's about an hour flight each way.EK also fly BKK-DAD 4xweekly, helps with benefits but doesn't come up in combination with SYD-BKK flights (connects OK outbound only).
Which is good for protection, but no lounge unless a Cathay elite or flying F/J. Also not even sure how that will work now that UO operates out of T2.Thanks for that! Yes, they don’t fly their own metal, but they codeshare on HK Airlines.
Interesting that didn’t show up when trying to book MEL-DAD. I had a stopover anyway in SIN for work so wouldn’t have mattered, but didn’t realise VN flew BKK-DAD.QF is offering single ticket with protected bags via BKK, connecting with Vietnam airlines. CX also flies via HKG.
HK Express does not have Business Class and is not part of OneWorld.By which you mean HK Express?
HK express codeshares with CX, per my post.HK Express does not have Business Class and is not part of OneWorld.
I am not sure how Qantas can Codeshare with them.
Indeed QF codeshare with EK who is not part of one world, star alliance or skyteam. Says it all really.HK express codeshares with CX, per my post.
Airlines can codeshare with anyone they like, irrespective of alliances. For example QF and CI codeshare, yet are from different alliances.

When I was checking the other day on the CX website it looks like they have retained those codeshare flight numbers! Or at least very similar, but with HK Express. I think it was CX 5222 now (or in that ball park!)Pre covid we flew SYD-HKG-DAD-HKG-MEL on CX (Cathay/Dragon)
They must have pulled out of the HKG-DAD sector
(CX162/CX5226//CX5223/CX105)
Probably after they "killed" the dragon.Pre covid we flew SYD-HKG-DAD-HKG-MEL on CX (Cathay/Dragon)
They must have pulled out of the HKG-DAD sector
