Does Melbourne only have one lounge ?
Or are all lounges being redesigned?
Going for the first time in some years in a couple of weeks
Yes, QFd in MEL only has one lounge, as mentioned above, split into 2 semi separate, the QP is larger now, but QF have decided that the QP should be downsized and the MEL QFd J lounge expanded.
The old way was the J lounge was a 2nd frosted sliding door, the first being the QP.
Now, after this refresh reno, I don't know which is first.
MEL T4 where JQd departs from doesn't have a QF lounge.

I do agree if there were seperate areas for families (eg closed off rooms to minimise noise to other guests - AA admirals lounges have these sort of rooms) we would definitely use them. QP, Business and Flounges.

If only AAdmirals and Flagship lounges had a closed off room for all the Mr Shouties on their cell phones:rolleyes:

Not just Mr. a few months ago there was a woman making so much noise on her phone. No male dared say anything or even look at her.

Unless they are noted in the Mel QP ;)

Well I'm disappointed that as part of the reno there's not a completely new lounge to deposit the kids in things to play loudly on their phones while I head off to the Whitsundays for 2 weeks (having walked through T2 and T3 to catch my JQ flight) .... only after I've posted a photo of the Retro Roo ... ....... whooops ... wrong forum.

Happy Friday everyone!!

Regards,

BD

Last time I tried to leave my kids in the lounge for two weeks while I headed off on holidays, I got a call to come back and pick them up - you must have the lucky touch :)

I'm flying ADL -MEL-CNS this Sunday. ADL - MEL leg arrives 08:30, MEL - CNS departs 09:10.

Not familiar with MEL airport, is it likely the Qantas Club in Melbourne will be close to the departure gates for my CNS flight? Wouldn't mind dropping in for a coffee during stop over and assume I'll have time for one?

Thanks

Considering, the Q Club upgrade in MEL and the access restrictions, not many people in the MEL Q Club on Sunday morning (08:40 AM) and no probs guesting wifey in either.

Went to the Melbourne domestic lounge yesterday. I don't think I have ever seen such a packed lounge.
I didn't see any indicators to go to a business lounge however as I needed to charge my phone I asked and they informed me that right at the end was the business lounge .
Not as busy but still quite full
