From those pictures I'm a bit disappointed, I was considering switching from VA to QF because I mainly use OOL. But it's nothing that great.

Hard to do much considering they just revamped an existing space, at least it's not as dark...

I wonder how much building the VA lounge cost and how long that'd take to pay off with OOL flights :p

It's lovely, but like the previous Jetstar lounge it feels small and dark. Really needs windows.

It reminds me of the JQ lounge too much.
But it would be pretty hard to beat the VA lounge for natural light/views.

From the pictures appears slightly uninspiring.. but wont be too critical, as have to experience it soon.
I have a hunch that the VA lounge trumps this any day of the week, pity the ATA was removed, as I would have more likely to enjoy that even waiting for a QF flight.
Quite a distinct defence mechanism, & for 'keeping up with the joneses" AKA - VA
As a positive consolation though, it is a distinct improvement, & so should be grateful for that. :D

Well done Sam, thanks for the nice pics.. & the food & beverage offerings?

Pancake machine for breakfast, replaced by soup for lunch, with a pasta dish that wasn't too bad. Bar opened 12, no Fat Yak though and glasses smaller than what I usually get served in BNE J (not sure if this is a QP versus J thing).

Lots of staff on hand, apparently the mid-day closing issue is being discussed already as it's already leaving a bad taste in mouths it seems. Didn't find it dark at all, very well lit in fact. Good use of space, the decor is really nice in person.

Also, no December issue of inflight magazine in lounge, but were happy to take one off a plane for me. Good service!

I wonder if they're the same staff from the JQ lounge or whether there are new staff?

No idea, but they are providing table service drinks which doesn't really align with JQ :)

Thanks for the pics Sam, looking fwd to seeing it for myself at Tuesdays "official" opening.

Making our presence known I thought I would christen the lounge by flinging a glass of sparkling across the table.

Apparently I turned a rather delectable shade of scarlet.

They are all very nice staff, so unlikely t come from JQ ranks, and that's not saying JQ staff aren't nice, but not this nice ;)

Assume you were invited to that, do you have a guest spot for it? :p

Pics look nice to me, definitely glad to see QF being back at OOL. Anyone know whether they got Bulmers on tab? I love the lounges that do :p
