Good afternoon all. I am flying to Bangkok at the end of the week on Emirates in J using QF points. Coming home a few weeks later my friend in flying Y on the same Emirates flight. I would like to get him onto a lounge but I understand I cannot access QC seeing I am booking on an EK ticket. Could I get it re-ticketed as a QF flight? Are Emirates strict with their no guest policy? Thanks heaps everyone.

Yes I am flying business out of BKK. I am amazed Qantas don't have a lounge there anymore.

In business you are allowed a guest on the same flight, but without status it costs USD100. And yes, they are strict.

You're better off with the EK flight number as that gets you the complimentary chauffeur drive, not that you could change it in any case.

BTW, the Louis Taverns are now known as 'Miracle' lounges.

A few weeks ago as a WP flying out of BKK-SYD ON QF24 J at check-in i was asked whether i wanted to goto the Cathay Pacific lounge or Emirates lounge was not offered the miracle lounge, i was happy anyway as cx and ek bkk lounges are great.
Is this standard now? Or do they send qf club others to miracle?

I've booked an award J ticket SYD-BKK online at Qantas using points. Its ticketed as EK419. I will arrive into Sydney a couple of hours before the EK lounge opens, can I use the QF lounge?

Don't spend too much time in the QFi SYD J lounge, Gazzman.
The EK lounge is better, esp if departure is after 12noon.
Not ever seen salmon in the QFi SYD J lounge, even though with an evening departure, but have seen it offered in the round servertory in the AKL lounge, mid afternoon, assume it would the same in the EK SYD lounge, salmon gives a touch of class to a flight.
Serve yourself wine too, in the EK lounges, unlike the QF lounges, when you have the server close at hand.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
