Agreed, for domestic flyers it is good-ish value, but for International its poor value these days since a lot of the routes QF has exited, (SIN-BOM, SIN-FRA, PER-HKG, ADL-SIN among some) diminishing the amount of lounges you can actually use Internationally.

Agreed, for domestic flyers it is good-ish value, but for International its poor value these days since a lot of the routes QF has exited, (SIN-BOM, SIN-FRA, PER-HKG, ADL-SIN among some) diminishing the amount of lounges you can actually use Internationally.

Was considering it for my sister, late very nice Birthday present, but can't work out what her renewal will be next year and figure it'll be just as exorbitant as the discount so perhaps not worth it.

I think that I'm right in saying that if you're going to be flying QF and not JQ when you use the lounge, you could consider the AA Admirals Club Pass:
1 year = US$500
2 year (1 year + renewal) = $US950
4 year = US$1850.....but it will have gone up by then, of course.

Generally no, FRA is no longer listed in the associated lounge list even though there is now a QF code EK flight going there. Since leaving BOM lounge access has gone, even if flying on the QF coded Jet Airways flight. .etc

Hence for international only flyers its poor value.

My +1 had QC up til a few months ago but I refused to let her renew it based on its now poor value, loss of Intl routes that we used to frequent (and me being WP now means I can guest her anyway).

I think this QC sale is a realisation of "oh cough, people aren't renewing anymore and new signups are much lower", QF give us some of our International routes back or start some new routes!

We are looking at booking to CDG for our next trip, but it appears that if we go QF/EK will have no access on QP. So unless going by LHR, QP is not much use as far as I can see. For example, our next booking is likely to be to CDG, and we would probably rather go CX than QF as we can go via HKG given that Lounge access would not be in the equation.

Does anyone know if all the Admirals Club locations listed on their website are valid with Qantas Club? Even though some of these are operated by other airlines? or does it only allow access to AA operated lounges? Cheers.

And, given that the Admirals Club at CDG is in T2A and EK fly from T2C, is it practical to use the lounge even if we can gain access with QP or take out a 30 day AA membership?

It was my understanding that the QP was full all the time and that is why WP anytime access was 'enhanced'.

Do you mean dedicated check-in and extra checked baggage allowance on QF flight numbers, or a wider selection of flights on 1W?

Also, would you please be able to address the query above on Admiral's Club access? For instance, can a QP member, with no status access Admiral's club lounges when not flying AA (but say AY).

Friends of mine with no QF status are travelling 1W Y RTW later this year (QF, AY, BA, AY) and I'm trying to convince them to get QP membership.

Yeah those are good benefits too, I am not trying to discount those benefits, just simply implying that if you're flying from a codeshare-only port (of which there are more of these than there used to be), then you will be left high and dry, no dedicated checkin or extra baggage allowance on codeshares.

Qantas Club members have access the AA operated Admirals Club lounges. Access isn't available at third-party operated lounges.

Thinking I'll likely take this up. Seems like good value compared to the usual price. I travel pretty frequently DOM-Y and have MEL-LHR coming up in Y as well with SWMBO, so any benefit helps. Gold would require a status run (burning points) and essentially a DSC (which isn't guaranteed by a long shot). My employer may put me on the corporate scheme if I push, but I figure they'll try and steal my points off me if this is the case (NOT happening!!). Assuming it's tax-deductible as well, so really not a bad price. A worthwhile allocation of some of the savings I made from using .br?

just double check to see if youre eligible for corporate membership... i was about to pull the trigger on this but decided to call up to check pricing and managed to get a 2 year deal for not much more including the sign up fee....
