But what about the DCS, if they don‘t come through at all automatically in this scenario? Then it gets presumably tricky when you start asking for DSCs for the „longer routing“ that you accepted.
DSCs are automatically triggered by the earning of any SCs for a given PNR booked during the stated period (after registration) and meeting the stated criteria. If it's a general DSC promo and it's during the specified window, you'll get DSC.

Extra legs added as part of a cancellation don't change the PNR. As far as QF are concerned, all flights flown on that PNR are eligible as long as they aren't rescheduled outside of the DSC window (or don't invalidate any criteria defined for a targeted DSC such as domestic flights only)

By default, you're credited for the sectors you actually fly. The key here would simply be to NOT ask for Original Routing Credit, as this would be counter-productive to the SC collection game.

A simple process breakdown would be:
  • Did QF change your routing to be shorter than the routing that you booked? Request ORC
  • Did QF change your routing to be longer than the routing that you booked (including if you accepted a longer route in response to a cancellation)? Do not request ORC
Correct. Well I'm not going to comment on Qantas' IT but will say that I went out of my way to change the nonstop into a connecting flight for the very simple fact that I'd double the SC accrual on the return which for me is important as I'm aiming for Platinum next program year.

Hopefully not a dumb question but thought I'd ask - Do Qantas marketed flights operated by Qantas Link - National Jet Systems count for DSC?

That’s certainly not a dumb question. The dumb question would have been if Jetstar was thrown into the mix.

Edit: Yes, yes, yes to the question. 😀

Just back after SYD-LHR-SIN-BNE-SYD on the DSC offer, putting me well over WP with an earlier trip to UK in March. Qualified WP after landing in SIN, and by the time I was on the final leg to SYD the cabin manager came to us first in Row 3 for service so a quick response to qualifying as we must have been the highest tiered pax (up from PS when we started the trip).

Do i earn DSC for flights booked with my ABN and qantas business rewards in the PNR?
The fares are slightly discounted as a business rewards member compared to not using ABN.

Yes, you will. However, you will get reduced points. As a comparison, my recent trip earned 32k points as a regular booking with ABN added, as opposed to 18k points when booking as QBR.

Thanks for reply Ade. You are right, I didn’t know that but less points earned shown in booking process when using QBR. Interesting.

Same as onward, DSC only for QF marketed AND operated. So my MAA-BLR QF5128 on Indigo did not qualify for DSC.

I booked in the stated window for DSC earlier this year. I then had the ticket reissued as I paid for an upgrade to F. They don't know if I should get the original DSC (620 - J ticket) or double the new F ones. anyone had experience here? Two days without a reply when I had the 'end of the day' promise on the phone.

Edit: QF1/2

If PNR didn't change and dates of travel still within window, and you're not referring to a Bid Now upgrade, you should automatically get double F SC.

Have you flown and not received any DSC?

Yep flown and not received. Raised it with the FF team who are looking into it. PNR did change and no one knows why. Original booking was through work TA and I upgraded myself so it looks like the CSA split the PNR from the original to make the change.

Oh no :(

I suspect you have a fight on your hands for the DSC.

PNR did change

Presumably the upgrade (and new PNR) happened after the DSC booking window finished then? That would explain why you didn't receive any DSC, and I'm sorry to say you may be out of luck on receiving any DSC at all, given the terms & conditions around booking changes...

Was the CSA that handled the upgrade working for Qantas or your corporate TA?
