Qantas Business Class meals & menus

To be clear, I fully support soup, it's that they feel the need to overcompensate for the menu as a whole by describing it as a "big bowl" 🤣
Agree and it’s not even that big of a bowl! I’d hardly call it a main!

Slightly OT but we’ve got a fundraiser on this weekend so all youse that like fancy stuff should come along. Here’s what you’ll get

L'Artisan Saucisson d'Australie
A tribute to the iconic Saturday morning culinary tradition of the Great Southern Land.
A masterfully charred, house-spiced heritage pork and beef emulsion, flash-seared to crispy imperfection over an open-air, direct-ignition petroleum gas hearth. Encased in a hyper-minimalist, cloud-textured artisanal pain de mie, pillowed perfectly to cradle the richness of the charcuterie.
Accompanying this rustic masterpiece is a vibrant nest of roughly sheared onions, flash-caramelized on a screaming-hot iron plancha to capture their natural sugars and a sharp, blackened edge. The composition is finished with a generous, artistic lacquering of our vibrant, sun-ripened pomodoro reduction lightly touched with cane sweetness and macerated summer vinegar.
Presented presentation-free, cradled in a singular, ultra-sheer gossamer cellulose tissue designed to dissolve elegantly at the first hit of moisture.

See youse at Hammerbarn on Saturday. šŸ˜‰

AKL-SYD 06:45 (QF4 787 flight).

Lengthy delays not helped by an embarrassing menu for an international flight.

Where is the bacon? Or even sausage?
I had the omelette. Bitter taste. Very disappointing. Croissant was decent.

Very good service from CSM Paul and FA Natasha. And of course comfortable on a 787. But this was a big catering fail.

SYD-PER 14:05 flight. QF5 787. So much better.

Usual PDBs offered, plus a drink and nuts after takeoff. Meal and drink orders taken while on the ground.

Soup starter was pretty good.

The barramundi was absolutely superb. Big piece of fish, cooked well and with a very tasty topping of radish and chilli. One of the best J meals I’ve had.
IMG_7011.jpeg
Cheese plate was decent, though the cheddar was very weak. Bring back the Pyengana cheddar please Qantas.

Great service from CSM Chris and FA Ben. Lots of P1 recognition but both great to chat with and I got the sense all pax were treated well.

Nice of the crew to let you have two mains.

QF760 PER-MEL Thursday 3rd September VH-VYZ "Torquay" sched dep 0615 actual pushback 0639 takeoff 0648 (06)

Back to MEL on the early flight, which had been a 330 at the time of booking but of course subsequently changed into the now standard narrowbody :( Nonetheless a very smooth and pleasant flight.

Excellent service from CSM Andrea.

Had the scrambled eggs and sausage for breakfast, better than average with the kransky-esque sausages being very tasty. The Lois Lane also hit the spot as usual. The other breakfast option was a Turkish bread toasted sandwich of some description; MrsDrJ had the same as me so can not comment on that one.

That's a pretty hefty breakfast. Is that potato cakes or fritters of some description, along with the short fat sausages?

I had Chris as CSM too, same flight - the P1 service was the best I've had and got the card and genuine conversation with the crew. God I love the Intl domestic flights.

A regular sized bowl of soup as a starter. This soup was very tasty.

Lamb was a very generous serve and tasty, with only a small part a bit gristly. But what possessed anyone to put ā€œcrispyā€ on a Qantas menu. They were tasty though.

Paula the CSM was nice and very sweet service from FA Luisa.
