Qantas Business Class meals & menus

SYD-WLG 18:45 flight Usual PDBs offered. No pre
-meal drinks service which was disappointing. Otherwise good flight with nice service from the crew.

Beef was very tasty, albeit a little gristly. Veggies crisp and fresh. Good meal. Ice cream offered after the meal.

I just came here to share the menu from that same flight, and I see you beat me to it.

I was in 2F and was happy that both choices were still available. I went with the chicken, which was pretty tasty though unmemorable. The prosciutto starter was also much better than the truly inedible version of it that I've been served flying the other way.

For the wines, the red on offer was a shiraz from Margaret River (the name escapes me right now), while the whites were Pipers Brook Pinot Gris from Tassie or Bleasdale Adelaide Hills chardonnay. I tried both - each was fine and similarly unmemorable. Seems to be the theme of the flight, really - but these days I'm happy for that. I do appreciate that QF continues to serve high quality bread and nice butter.

Flying WLG-SYD in J next weekend and hoping the catering will be a lot better than the last QF J meal I had ex-WLG, which was honestly the worst food I've ever had on QF. Will report back.

The gentleman next to me was on staff travel so served last. But he ended up having beef and the chicken later!! So for once catering seemed to be sufficient.

Well, let me lower your expectations even further.

Roast lamb sounded great but was actually terrible. Very tough piece of meat and way overcooked. Not helped by the fact that the crew decided to chat for an hour before starting the service.

Salmon and potato salad tasted like cardboard.

Other than the slow start, service was friendly and fine. But a very disappointing meal and feedback provided.

Eek… well that’s something to look forward to… 🤣

It’s starting to sound like a WLG-specific catering problem.

Ugh - I’m on that flight in a few weeks time. I guess I’ll just try and eat for real in the terminal

I'll report on my experience this coming Saturday (also on the 1555 flight). If it's as bad as I fear, the Japanese place in the terminal (pre-security - there's not a whole lot in the international departure area) is not too bad.

Last I remember in the WLG departure area there was a Subway; naturally, it was making a killing in business.

Turns out mine is actually a bit later in June, so I might luck out with a winter menu rotation by then
