Who's going to tell Neil that the sausage goes inside the muffin?

QF188 AKL-MEL.

The menu said beef with baked vegetables and cous cous.

I say stew.

Beef was rubbery.

Vegetables were soggy.

The cous cous was…. Interesting.

Looks like risoni rather than couscous.

Service: Lunch
Meal: Caribbean chicken salad; refreshing and enjoyable choice. Also took the cheese (no photo but you can imagine a standard Qantas cheese plate ). Avro Spritz onboard to wash it all down.

Yeah, certainly wasn’t cous cous. But that’s what the printed menu said.

I’m no pasta fan, and if it had been correctly identified on the menu I would have selected the alternate.

Yep, but vastly different texture and style to what was served, as noted by @blackcat20

Good flight, although catering not as good as MEL-NRT. I wish Qantas offered more daytime flights from Asia - Australia like this one, especially from SIN.

New menu for April.



Fruit salad, cherry danish, and fritatta. Coffee was terribly burnt.



2nd meal a few hours before landing in Sydney. Prawn starter was nice, although a bit bare, and steak option was average as the ponzu sauce was terribly sweet and had a weird syrupy consistancy - you can see this is the photo. Should have selected the Japanese option. Cherry cheesecake fine, but very sweet, only had a few bites. Surprisingly, Neil's salad had tomatoes and a few pieces of broccoli instead of the usual bare salad!

Always the better option out of Japan imho.
