Qantas Business Class meals & menus

Came home last night on QF26 from Haneda to Sydney. Despite being in the 1st row of J they were out of duck and the sandwich by the time my order was taken. Only options were fish, which I don't like, so it was a bowl of pumpkin soup. Soup was good, as was bread roll, but soup and a bowl of spinach leaves is a very small meal.

Cheese was ok but as I was eating just the cheese after eating the 2 crackers supplied FA came and took the plate with remaining cheese. I had a mouth full so couldn't say anything. Not good enough for business class. Breakfast was good but a second coffee was denied, without explanation.

So so bad. I hate when this happens as I can't eat fish or seafood at all and Qantas is usually a safer option in this respect then say Singapore Airlines. But I hate pumpkin too so I would have been super disappointed!

I assume they probably took orders in status order instead of from front to back. Of course, that doesn't make it any more acceptable to be out of two of the options for a J customer.

Mate - I am jealou, this looks like a decent J service unlike the comical tray I got on Sunday morning as per post further above! How can the delivery be so inconsistent?

If you search 'consistently inconsistent' under Qantas here you will get a lot of hits!! 😂

QF122 ZQN-SYD

PDB including Jacquart Champagne.

Mains were a beef ravioli with some form of kale. We both went for the Barramundi in a “Spicy sauce” (probably tomato based but possibly a romesco style sauce). Anyway, it was quite good. The fish seemed to cope with the reheating and the sauce balanced out the stronger fishy flavour of Barra. Also paired nicely with Shaw & Smith Sav Plonk (one of my favs).

Edit: SYD+1's fish was visible under the sauce which made it look a bit more appetizing.

Very friendly and attentive AKL based crew.

Now, those things in boxes. Would I be right in assuming the “Batch code” is simply YYMMDD. Which would be pushing 2 wks for my sticky little number.

Evening MEL-SYD

Options were Waldorf salad or pork or veal ravioli (can’t exactly recall)

Very sizeable serve but quite salty. Heirloom Shiraz accompanied well

So two flights on Friday - one was the veal ravioli (supposedly in some sort of mushroomy sauce) and the 2nd flight was a "pork fillet in apple sauce with beans and mash" - now I had the rav ad your pic looks SO MUCH BETTER than what I was presented which looked like a mess.. but to be fair it was a solid serve (in many ways) ... the sort of thing that would be great in winter as filling comfort food tbh... quite dense but tasty. As such the damn thing filled me up that getting on the next flight I just couldn't contemplate the pork... which is a pity as it looked and smelled delicious (my seatmate had it and she devoured it and seemed quite happy lol)

QF70 DEL to MEL

Nothing on this menu was even vaguely appealing to me so I passed. I actually wasn't hungry to begin with. Reason being the lounge QF use in DEL is currently close. So they direct pax to The Irish House which has a set menu. Food there was pretty average but in reality, better than lounge food.

Now someone has to explain to me what a "Greek overload Burger" is and what the heck one makes of "ghost crunch"- is a crunch that's actually not there on the plate?

You'll find these "things in boxes" are generally Frozen immediately after baking.

So it would likely have been "Freshly Thawed (for you convenience)".

You ask a good question! I asked about the burger. Turns out it was a vege burger so passed. O ordered the ghost crunch chicken burger which was a thing bit of deep fried and crumbed chicken that had some mild heat. Pretty average.

So the only choices for each of these courses was either chicken or vege? The salmon dish on board would have been very welcome

Yesterday’s flight to Jakarta. Awesome flight, awesome crew.
