In the last year I have been given a PDB (still or sparkling water only) once on QF domestic J when flying the 738 between MEL and SYD. Oddly nothing ever on the 332 or 333 between MEL and SYD or MEL/SYD and PER. Maybe the occasional PDB is consolation for flying on a 738 and not in the J suite on the 332/333?I've only flown Qantas business class a couple of times and was surprised to not be offered a pre departure drink. It's always been offered on Virgin and they seem to always have 2 meal options.
I assumed Qantas would have the better business offering, but Virgin seems to do a better job of it - at least in my experience, mostly flying CBR > MEL
A pre departure drink? On Qantas Domestic??? And it’s not even just water or water like it was for a long time?
Then again. It looks radioactive green- what was in it? Parsley and Kale?![]()

Yep, even that little bottle of water is hit and miss, especially on the shorter triangle runs. I don’t think I’ve seen it on any of my recent SYD-MEL flights…Something or other that's meant to be healthy. I'm not usually into such concoctions but was so excited to see a pre-departure drink, I took it. The day prior on MEL to BNE they didn't even hand out a water bottle on the flight!
Bottles of water seem consistent on Alliance Airlines operated flights, based on the recent slew of E90 flights I've flown onYep, even that little bottle of water is hit and miss, especially on the shorter triangle runs. I don’t think I’ve seen it on any of my recent SYD-MEL flights…
And on most (if not all) my A220 flights this year - a usual QF Link thing over the years, if memory serves.Bottles of water seem consistent on Alliance Airlines operated flights, based on the recent slew of E90 flights I've flown on
Not surprising to be offered nil PDD on 737 business class!Something or other that's meant to be healthy. I'm not usually into such concoctions but was so excited to see a pre-departure drink, I took it. The day prior on MEL to BNE they didn't even hand out a water bottle on the flight!
That does indeed look terrible and sound like a terrible experience. I hope you submit feedback officially Mort.

Was he an Aussie?Unfortunately the gentleman in the chair in front continued to order drinks beyond when he should have been cut off, and serenaded the cabin all the way to Melbourne so not much sleep was had, even with my earplugs and noise cancelling headphones in, staff mostly ignored him though several people complained, they would ask him to be quiet, he’d say sorry then just keep going , so drunk he was lolling in his seat, need two cabin crew to assist to get him seated safely for landing.

It's not always a negative experience like Mort had.I think the best form of feedback is with your wallet - havnt paid for J on QF for a number of years now.
