Hi Does anyone know how to add YNGP OSI code to booking - for a 13 yo travelling alone - I dont want him travelling as an Unaccompanied Minor
Booked an award for my nephew this morning and the QF call centre can't seem to be able to do it they actually seem pretty clueless! Called them now and stil lshowing as an Adult pax
Did a booking Sunday for a return flight with Velocity Points no problem 5 minutes later eticket issued etc all show service code in booking and etik YPTA (young Person Traveling Alone) and Virgin Australia which have a short wait time for call centres which seem to be Phillipines based and agents are clued up QFF call centre are totally clueless
Ill rephrase -the call centre staff are doing what they can, but they have bad IT and have to call QFF Agent Support for the airline they are working for

ANd still on/off hol;d for the past 2 hours or so -airline cant even provide confirmation If VA can do it why cant QF?
Final outcome -I wont see it so I cant tell my sister or his father - but it is in remarks -
If only QFF call centre staff could see QFF award availability even though I could see an opened up seat myself on AA.com and Qantas.com immediately after I cancelled a hold I placed on an award flight on QF through AA.COM I had to book the award myself because the QFF agent couldn't see it ANd for all, if you ever have problems with looking at a booking or wanting an eticket, just plug your Qantas booking's Amadeus PNR in at Qatarairways.com

Do it at the airport. YNGP actually only notifies the crew, doesn't provide any extra assistance though. Unless you pay for him to go as a UMNR.

We don't want UMNR He is perfectly capable, which is why I booked same flight on QF via AA.COM call centre, but they could only make a partner booking with UMNR AA.COM don't understand YNGP or their own YPTA for under 15yos
I used to book Qantas awards for my niece to from SYD-ADL and never this rigamarole I even think you could completely ignore the YNGP requiremenrt

You rally don't need to do anything tbh. Over 12 classified as an adult. But like I said that. YNGP thing is purely just an information thing, it doesn't get escorts or extra service like UMs do.
 
Picked nephew up yetserday at ADL after his VA flight award i booked for him No problems as YNGP Dad took him to airport and stayed with him till he boarded. thought i'd go to QF Service Counter at ADL checkin to check his return flight QF Business award I'd booked him with MAJOR difficulty (see my post Qantas Call Centre long wait times) and final reissue of ticket by QF Call Centre after many hours on hold. Service agent in ADL told me his booking stil lshowed him travelling as Unaccompanied Minor, which we did not want. This is depite all the calls amnd ticket reissue by QF callcentre. Agent at ADL told me she added YNGP to his booking so cross fingers no rigamarole next week
