Qantas Auckland Lounge Upgrade

So are they now open all day, or just opening for breakfast then again at midday?

Didn't check. Was surprised it was open for breakfast given prior reports it was closed.

Short review --- had the eggs benedict, which came out quickly, but the eggs were way undercooked. Also the brioche French toast, which took an extraordinary long time to arrive given what it was. Service was quite good initially, however no proactive top-ups of drinks offered.

I thought the buffet looked a bit disappointing compared to what I remember was on offer at the old lounges. Though I didn't try anything given what I had already eaten.

Had nice chats with the baristas/bar staff and lounge manager. You can tell they like working at this lounge and are proud of what the lounge has to offer.

This is great news for QF4 pax wanting to sleep as late as possible before the AKL transfer. It always seemed odd that breakfast wasn't on offer when the lounge reopened for these passengers, so good to see it now available.

Can I access Platinum dining area if I am flying Cathay Pacific as Qantas Platinum?

Good to know. Maybe my next Cathay flight from Auckland can be first stop Koru Lounge, then Qantas lounge.
Assuming the QF lounge has the dining area open then as OWE it’s a vastly superior experience with a sit down food service and better drink options.

I definitely agree. I will report if I do book that flight.
I think I am just weighing my next flight to Hong Kong either from Auckland or Perth at the moment.
Cathay Pacific charges a Sydney Premium and earn less Qantas status credits, which I don't think it is a viable option to fly Sydney - Hong Kong direct anymore.

Not that lounge should make the difference here (I’d personally pick by price) however Auckland QF lounge or even the Air NZ Auckland lounge beats the Perth Aspire lounge any day. CX do get a small private room in the Perth Aspire but still no menu or other special things.

We arrived 1.15 and had lunch. Lots of room in the pit, but no chairs for 2 left in the main lounge . We had to sit on the bench seat until the Mel flight departed
