Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I've used this twice now, and had the points post within a few days to QFF.

QF could analyse my trips to the airport, and match it against my QF activity. If there's no match - they could assume I've taken a trip with the competition (unless, I worked at the airport, was collecting someone etc...)

3 points per $1 seems hardly worth it to me for the amount of data that you would be gifting to QF.

Now, this feature would be useful, if you could order an uber prior to departing, and when you land, you go outside and an uber is waiting for you.

It's surely not that hard to make that feature work - if you don't have checked bags.

Agreed! Would be a very handy feature indeed.

After an Uber ride to LAX yesterday, the app wouldn't load the trip for review, so I went via the website. While logged in via the full site, I saw something that made me wonder about the need to book the Uber via the Qantas app for QF points.

Just got an email from Uber
Earning Qantas Points just got easier
We’re making it even easier for you to earn Qantas Points when you ride with Uber to and from eligible Australian airports - you no longer have to book via the Qantas app to earn points. Just link your Uber and Qantas Frequent Flyer accounts, then request your eligible ride using the Uber app.

So a P1/CL spending $35 on Uber to get to the airport earns 100 points = about a buck? It is amazing to me how successfully managed the FF program is that people will sign over their lives for so little.

Taking such a ride each week would - let's see - take you 50 years and $100,000 Uber spend to get you a RTW in J (forgetting fuel fines)

For a more usual Silver member doing a monthly trip to the airport, they would spend $280,000 and it would take them 330 years to earn the same RTW.

Still better than the 0.435 QFFP/$ spent at WW or a $643,679 spend for a OW RTW J award (+taxes etc)...

I've found the inability to use bus/ taxi lanes stressful on the way to airport and the chaos of pick up at SYD is awful. Not worth the points for me (even when they were SPG)

Book a cab through the Uber app? or use Ingogo (1 point per dollar)

I rarely get ubers to the airport and when I do I don't remember to use the Qantas app.

I got an uber a couple of weeks ago through the uber app and it credited to my Qantas account. Impressed - I thought you had to use the Qantas app for this to work?

Edit: I should read recent posts before posting. And apparently Qantas emails... but I can confirm this works!

Good to know that it works, will be testing it out myself soon!

Missing points from three Uber trips over 6 weeks ago. Have followed up with Uber and raised a request to investigate. Getting the run around. Grrr

Booked directly using the Uber app this weekend and my QFF points have credited as anticipated...

I have found the Uber / Qantas partnership to be really good and it has increased my use of using Uber to and from airports.
3 points per $ admittedly is not huge but it does add up.
I have taken a few Uber rides from the Gold Coast to Brisbane airport, which are about $150 a pop, so that's 450 Qantas points each time I wouldn't otherwise have.
