Qantas and Uber - Points partnership

Now, this feature would be useful, if you could order an uber prior to departing, and when you land, you go outside and an uber is waiting for you.

It's surely not that hard to make that feature work - if you don't have checked bags.

I used it yesterday at SYD. Strange though that the pin drop was miles from the airport in the Uber app after clicking the Uber book button in the Qantas app and being passed through to the Uber app, even though I was standing in T3. Once I moved the pin and ordered, I was correctly directed to the green priority pickup area. No extra points have appeared yet, presumably Uber will need to generate and transfer. Might have to go snoofling for the Uber t&c's.......

Using it as I type. Just arrived on EK 435. We had no issuidea s with tu pickup.

Has anyone had their points posted for this? I caught four Uber's using the link from the QF app on Friday and haven't seen anything come through to QF account yet. Wondering what the time-frame will be.

I had concerns when Qantas wanted access to all my previous rides.....Sorry Qantas....

It's about as fine grained as Uber can supply the information. The permissions on the Uber side allow you to request all or nothing. There's no real in between.

except my rides...:)

"limit ad tracking" prevents this....!

Just to answer my own question, points posted in QF account today.

Used it last Saturday night on my wife's account.
Took advantage of the $20 code provided on the Qantas email for first time users.

I have received an email today offering . Reading the T&C look like any Uber anywhere will trigger the bonus 2000 and ride to from airport will earn extra points of top of that . If that the case a short $9 ride for 2000 points is value for money i think

We recently sent you news of our new partnership with Uber and how you can pick up 2,000 Qantas Points on your first Uber ride. Now’s the time to join the 3.1 million Aussies who have discovered a more seamless and reliable way to travel.

Simply sign up to Uber and link your Frequent Flyer account*.

Important information
You must be a Qantas Frequent Flyer member to earn points. A joining fee usually applies, however this will be waived for Uber customers that join here. Membership and points are subject to the Qantas Frequent Flyer program terms and conditions.

This is useful, In addition, members who sign up to Uber for the first time and book a ride via the Qantas app will earn 2,000 bonus Qantas Points on their first Uber trip anywhere in Australia.

I'm assuming if you have an existing Uber account are you ineligible for this 2k offer?

Signed up via the QF app and completed my 'first' ride from BNE tonight. Interesting to see if I get the 2000pts...

Received my QFF points for the two Uber rides last weekend. Has anybody received the first ride 2000pt bonus yet?

Had a ride from the airport on the 20th. Points posted on 23rd with the 'ride' date listed as 22nd.
Seems Uber batches the rides for a period of time then sends the data to QF and the QF system assumes the rides were taken on the day the Uber data dump happened.

4 rides last week - 3 have posted, one hasn't. Definitely went through QF app but don't have the patience to call up for 50 points!
