It will be interesting then, based on the emails from AMEX, I cancelled 22 hours, 50 minutes after initial booking.
Any updates? Planning on doing this soon but want to make sure it’s done properly.

Also by phantom flight did you just mean that you cancelled it within 5 minutes, or something else? Tia :)

If you are doing it fresh, aka you still have an unused travel credit its as simple as I said above. Book the flight and cancel within 24 hours you will get your refund within a few business days into the account as a credit.

A question regarding access to the Centurion Lounge for children: if my son has a lounge pass for the Centurion Lounge (from his Amex Ultimate card) how many children can he take in with him. The website says:

All other eligible Card Members as outlined below are entitled to a total of two entries per calendar year (1 January to 31 December). The two entries may be used by the Primary Card Member, an Additional Card Member or a guest travelling with a Card Member. Complimentary access is offered to Card Member’s children aged 17 years or younger.

In practice, is there a limit on the number of children? He will have his wife and 3 children with him.

Thanks in advance.

I tried it with my 2 kids, both aged 4 years and under and had no problems.
In fact, they did not even ask about anything so I think 3 would be fine.

Sorry about the late reply.

I might have been too slow cancelling but it did work mostly.

After cancelling $450 travel credit was credited to account. However a few days later, the $508 charge for the flight was debited from the account so at that point I was $58 out of pocket. I waited a few days and $418 was recredited to the account so it appears I had to pay the $90 cancellation fee that was listed in the T&C's on my ticket.

So in the end, a good result, I managed to get $360 of the travel credit back which I am happy with.
