It will be interesting then, based on the emails from AMEX, I cancelled 22 hours, 50 minutes after initial booking.
Any updates? Planning on doing this soon but want to make sure it’s done properly.

Also by phantom flight did you just mean that you cancelled it within 5 minutes, or something else? Tia :)

If you are doing it fresh, aka you still have an unused travel credit its as simple as I said above. Book the flight and cancel within 24 hours you will get your refund within a few business days into the account as a credit.
