Just tuned in for his most previous question, has he been asking questions all morning?

Really regret not tuning in earlier if so! lol

2 (or was it 3) questions during Q&A, 1 for Bill's re-election and 1 for the old General.

Was just about to say lol

Don't worry, he'll be back again for round 4!

Jesus someone call an ambulance.

Or the nut house so we can get on with it!!

What is with Mr Jack Tilber(can't understand the rest of his surname) (aka the old man)

Probbaly Jack Tilburn. He's been a shareholder activist for years. Kerry Packer did manage to get him to shut up once!

Referring to Alan Joyce as "a little man" shows Mr Tilburn is just a rude old man. Obviously loves the sound of his own voice. Clearly he should be Chairman of the Qantas Board, if not CEO as well!

That's the guy, only managed to properly make out his name during part 3 of proceedings.

On another note, look it's a Jetstar slide (with a tiny Qantas in the bottom left corner).

How about limiting questions to 20 seconds each (and 2 per person per round)?

Probably no more contempt than that harboured by the majority of AFFers for AJ, so big deal.

Omg $10,000 of travel beneifts!!

Run to the hills, it's all over everyone!!

Displaying good manners at a major public event is a big deal. Disagreeing with something or someone is fine; making rude remarks about people is not.

And I doubt that many hold Joyce "in contempt" - that's a very strong word.

And I doubt that many hold Joyce "in contempt" - that's a very strong word.

According to an online dictionary:
contempt
1. The feeling or attitude of regarding someone or something as inferior, base, or worthless; scorn.
2. The state of being despised or dishonored; disgrace.

I think that very accurately describes what most people think about AJ on this forum, almost to the point that you'd have to be proverbially living under a rock not to notice it. You only have to consider last year's grounding just to give a spot example.

I disgree, with over 30000 participants, what most people think is not voiced, obviously those with strong feelings voice them, but thats not representative of the majority by any means.

98% of shares (by number of shares, not by shareholders) voted in favour of the remuneration package

Reading ABC news on my iPhone, I came across this quote

"It will restore a great Australian airline to financial health, with Jetstar the only Australian-owned international airline serving this country." [1]

Now I suspect this is probably a misquote, but it had me worried for a moment...

The quote from the ASX transcript reads:
It will restore a great Australian airline to financial health - the only Australian-owned international airline serving this country.

Yeah I'd be a bit worried if the 'misquote' was indeed correct.

According to Joyce, apparently Qantas is still investment grade, which I find odd (wasn't it downgraded some time ago?). And he mentions there are only two in the world - which is the other one?

98% of shares (by number of shares, not by shareholders) voted in favour of the remuneration package

Since when has there been a company where mum and dad investors actually make an impact on the remuneration package?

Well... we did have the recent Fairfax spill, though I think that had significant backing from the larger investors.
