Qantas adds OOL-AKL and SYD-AKL-APW

Goodbye to the OOL-AKL status run.

It's only 3 flights a week, the fare will still need to enable flights on other days and times. The timings also seem to target ex-NZ pax, not Aussies. Completely useless connecting to QF3/4.

Two new Qantas routes to/from New Zealand have been announced.
  • Gold Coast to Auckland
  • Sydney to Apia, Samoa via Auckland
Both routes will operate 3 times a week on the 737 and commence 16 June 2026.

I wonder if they misconstrued all the OOL - MEL- AKL status runs as actual demand 😂😂. I can just see some spreadsheet pusher see all the business demand and go we should send a flight.
