Qantas A380 refurbishment news and updates.

Currently booked on QF36 SIN-MEL Dec 13 in F which is showing the new J seat map when you do a dummy booking on the QF website. Hopefully it sticks!

Seat alerts are showing the new layout as well on the above info (for business )
One anomaly is that Expert Flyer is showing the new layout.
However if you look at seat guru it only has one layout for QF A380s - the old one.
Which seems odd since EF uses info from Seat Guru.
Maybe it only uses the legends as an overlay on a seat map sourced from the airline?

I wouldn't take much notice of SeatGuru. It typically has no idea what layout is being used anyway, and given no passengers have been on this layout, they wouldn't have much useful to say. There are plenty of cabin configurations I've been on recently on airlines that don't show up there.

Is there an easy way to tell if you're on an upgraded A380 or not? Currently booked Business on QF2 on the 29th of Jan LON to SIN, and really hoping my upgrade request to first gets approved 😁

I booked SYD-LAX QF17 in F on December 22nd to avoid the skybed. If the aircraft is updated then I may change to J as I don't see much of a difference between J and F on the upgraded A380. Thoughts?

If you're in J and it's still showing 2-2-2 with rows 11-13 in front of the first door on the upper deck then it's the old one. If you're seeing 1-2-1 then the new. Given your flight is in Jan, I doubt they have scheduled the refurbed bird that far ahead.

Hi guys, As many of you may have read, the first refurbished A380 will be flying SYD-LHR on Oct 2nd, I have been to the QF site to try and make bookings in First, Business, Economy and PE. The NEW seat map is as follows. Although J appears in a 1-1-1 config, at the top you can clearly see that 1-2-1 layout will be A- E/F -K from left to right. Regarding the new PE, I think it is a DISGRACE that in a cabin of 60, there seems to only be 4 extra legroom seats, being 31 A/B/J/K.

Here is the new layout

LOWER DECK

FIRST

Economy 1

Economy 2

Economy 3

UPPER DECK

Business 1

Business 2

Premium Economy

I don't understand how both row 1 and 5 are listed as 'exit' rows as they are most certainly not. Yes, closest to the exit, but not exit rows in their own right.

Anyone have idea how they will reassign seats for those who have already picked seats??
If Red Roo was still around you probably would have had an answer by now.

As much chance of Red Roo reappearing as ATA.
