Hey All,

I am getting conflicting information regarding the position of the window on the current seating on the A380 in Premium Economy.

On the official seat map, it appears that there is no window next to seats 24A/K, but i can't find anything anywhere mentioning this - apart from a few images online (which are mostly of old config, with PE at the back of the upper deck)

Anyone had any recent experience here?

I am weighing up my options, currently have 24K selected, but may switch to 27A as it's available, and i like a view - no matter how minimal. (should upgrade not come through)

TIA.

Will

24 is, I think, an exit row and IIRC the window is just behind where your seat is, very difficult to look out and strain on the neck. Window in exit door is too far ahead and too small to see through.

Hey Eric,

Yeah it is an Exit row - where the window looks to be set slightly behind the seat - but i did see in an image online that there was actually a window there (unless title of image was incorrect)

That said, would 24K or 27A be preferable (being PE, will have leg room regardles, but on the flip side, IFE is in the armrest regardless, so additional leg room appears to be the only positive.

This is for QF7 SYD-DFW

Cheers

I guess its a personal thing, with 24 you wont get much of a view but lets face it the view is only good for the first 15 minutes and for the last 30 minutes but the far superior leg room is good for the entire trip. 27 on the other hand is a standard premium seat in the middle of the section, has pitch of between 38-42 inches and 19.5 inches wide, (pitch and width are the same for both seats) will have superior view but not such good leg room. Me personally, for such a long trip I would sacrifice the view and get the leg room where I can stretch out, stand up and do some leg exercise etc in "my own little space"

True - i'm hoping i get my upgrade, and it's neither here nor there.

Availability looks promising - QF 007 F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 TL Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 :p

Will keep it to 24K for now though, as it's harder to get back once you give it up!

I've only travelled in 24AB when it was J class and the window wasn't flush with the seats so you had to look back whereas most of the other J class seats had 3 windows to look out of.

As Eric2011 meantioned, the only good thing scenery wise will be the take-off from SYD which you'll still be able to see a bit of by looking backwards but there's not much to see on approach to DFW.

Yep, will be the first time on the ultra long haul so comfort takes precedence!
