So how many issues have AirNZ, DJ and Tiger had int he last 6 months? (I genuinely don't know the answer to this). Any glaring non-reports?

I thought the Emirates issue was correctly brought to the publics attention by SMH and abc news radio (my two key sources of news). ABC NEWS radio are very objective I find... SMH can get emotive but such is life.

Spend between 30 mins and an hour going through the weekly reports to ATSB by Australian carriers. Weekly summaries

"Reportable events' are notable to me - simply because it means that the Govt safety body thinks an airline needs to report them. They provide an unbiased report on what has happened over a weekly period.

Plenty of incidents (many extremely minor) from all carriers in Australian airspace / Australian carriers overseas, but some are particularly of note. The reports don't show the carrier, but often it can be guessed by the plane type and country of registration.

Bird strike is extremely common. Fortunately it takes a BIG bird to badly damage an engine.

Some of the more recent reports have the carrier name mentioned. Perhaps some sort of policy change at ATSB.

There is also JACDEC (J.A.C.D.E.C. - Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre), which under incidents and news lists an SQ cargo hold fire as its first entry at the moment (JACDEC - Current News). AVHerald is a bit easier to use though!
