Priority Club Point Breaks

Booked 4 nights at the HI Cairns over the Australia Day long weekend. It was perfect timing as DJ even had the flight for a decent points rate (26400 points return).

A new list will be out shortly - probably in the next 24 hours.

Availability has started appearing at 5K points for hotels.

Includes IC Adelaide , but can't see any others in Aus/NZ.

--edit.

PC Website has now been updated to reflect the changes.
Also, CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL ALICE SPRINGS is available.

Valid for stays to March 30th, 2010

That's quite a disappointing list. They have four hotels for all of Asia, two in China and two in Indonesia.

Re: Priority Club Point Breaks - IC Burswood

Hi All
I booked 3 rooms over the Hopman Cup period at IC Burswood on the POint Breaks. Did anyone else who booked multiple rooms find the hotel could not deal with it?
I had different keys issued to wrong rooms, credit cards assigned to wrong rooms, one room did instant checkout and I checked the credit cards and received a bill for mini bar for a room billed to the wrong card.

To add to the disappointment: the parking attendant basically argued with me for 10 mins about whether I was lying and really was a hotel guest. I am a Platinum Ambassador and no welcome gift until I asked. Also I should add, none of my rooms were ready at 2pm. Also the room I was given was surrounded by renovations, which the letter in the room said would not occur on Sunday but it did!

I stay here regularly and it seems the last two stays they have "dropped the ball"
Interested in your thoughts and experience
Cheers

I had six 5k rooms booked for a four night period over Christmas. They were used as gifts. There were no reports of problems. However, as a Priority Club Platinum they only extended the check-out to 12pm which I found very disappointing.

I have four 5k rooms booked for 25 January for myself (and friends) and I'll be aiming for a 'top-tier' experience.

As a regular you should be not surprised that rooms were not ready at 2PM, check in is 3PM! Most of the parking is self pay, so I am not sure why an attendant is involved, I always park near the pool for $6!

I used to have lots of issues with the hotel until my last few stays, and I still get the odd mistake but its brought to the attention of the guest services maanger who is very good at fixing things, the new room design is interesting, I got to stay the only finished room last trip but did not stay long, no aircon, luckily a river suite was available, I love them as an upgrade.

Yep, had that. One time they made me go and checkin, then come back to park - No room key, no parking. Last time they saw my bags in the back and let me in.

I'm sick of Burswood's renovations too - Noise at 8am on weekends, and upgrades to 'prototype' rooms that are no better than normal rooms, and located right above a building site!

I know there is no upgrade for reward nights for Plaitium Member according to the rule. But I just wonder is there any one get upgrade in IC for this pointbreak night?

Hi there

Thanks for your replies, its interesting what other people's experiences are.
To answer a couple of your comments:
The parking attendant was involved as it was Hopman Cup so very full, nearly 40 degrees and I elected to park undercover.
My experience has been that the upgrade is to a "view room" which is a standard room on the eastern side of the hotel. I have never been offered a suite and I even asked if I could pay to have access to the executive floor which was denied.
I expected that at least my room would be ready by 3pm as I am an Ambassador.

I always enjoy following this forum, its a great community!

Hi Larni

Your clarification makes a lot of sense, I have not stayed there during the tennis so it sounds like they were overwhelmed, which is a little hard to understand given the history of that event. I have hard issues in the past with upgrades to "view" rooms when such rooms cannot be booked, IMHO the upgrade should be to a room that is bookable above the level you booked to be a real upgrade.

New Pointsbreaks have been posted. Valid for stays till June 30.

Nothing too special in Oceania :

But things are still in the process of being updated, so could get better.

Thats it, I am moving to Hyatt, how rude that ICHG stop putting all their hotels on a list for free nights that you can earn with a one night stay, whinge, whinge, whinge. Wooops, sorry, thought I was on FT ;)

Be careful, or I will start whining about the whiners!

On FT it's Whine, Whine, Whine... but sssh don't mention that there ;)

Yeah the pickings are pretty slim once again, but I'm not surprised for the reasons you state!
