Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

And if the Commonwealth Biosecurity Determination is to end shouldn't any State public health Emergency Declaration end?

Hmmm… so on my reading, if a flight is scheduled to depart on 17 April to fly to Australia, you would need a negative test still?

If the flight was via a transit point, with the transit flight departing 18 April for Au, test in theory not needed, but you might have difficulty boarding at the point of origin (without test)?

We have flown ScootBiz/ScootPlus (Premium economy lite) Per - Sin return a couple of times to connect with cheap J flights on AY and QR to Europe. I was amusing myself today looking at the Scoot flight to Berlin - not that I would travel that far with them - to see if their schedules were returning to normal. However I noticed a new aircraft is on this route on certain days as on some of the Perth flights the B787 is being changed to a A321Neo. This aircraft is one class only (2 x 3 across) without the pretty comfortable Premium Economy type seats. They are of course happy to still charge their Plus fares. Incidentally the already fairly basic food/drink options for ScootPLus also seem to have been enhanced - in the QANTAS meaning of that term.

While also looking at SQ flights to Europe I also noticed that SQ is now showing Scoot as an alternative on their Perth flights while still charging J fares. I would not be happy paying just under $7,000 for a Perth/Frankfurt trip and then spending 5 hours on Scoot.

I am sure none of us would be caught by these changes but the unwary may well be.

Any mention or consideration of those who may not feel comfortable doing so?

Circling back on this - so our company's international meeting 1 in the US - is confirmed for physical attendees only.

No hybrid option for remote attendees to attend / view content, so those not comfortable going will have be to be debriefed by those who go after the fact.

(However, from Australia - all team members invited are going so won't be an issue for our team!).

Still need to test (RAT) on arrival, even after 17 April. Does any one know how that works? is it a self-declaration or does it need to be supervised? Who do you have to notify? Travelling to Melbourne of 2 May.

Presumably same as now. Self administered RAT, and declare if positive. No need to report if negative.

On arrival it is self-declaration. It's an honour system. When I flew back it was one of the rare day or two that they handed a pack of tests to arriving passengers. You'll need to supply your own.

I’m fairly sure they’re state based requirements, so there’s another level of government to get their s**t together before it changes.

Yeah it's a PCR within 24 hours of arrival in SA and need to isolate until test is done, but not until the result. However we now have a new Premier of two weeks who keeps saying that SA must conform to national agreements now and at midnight tonight the masks are being ditched. So he's keeping to his word.

We tested positive in London, so needed a medical clearance to come home a week ago. The rules in Sydney are that you should test by day 2, but if you have had a recent infection it is pointless just as testing before the flight was, hence the need for medical clearance. So we have ignored the requirement for day 2 test and to monitor for symptoms - don't expect we will be unlucky enough to catch it twice in 4 weeks.

And two hours ago, it's all just changed. Take a RAT. If negative, done and dusted.
