There’s going to be heaps of different formats of reports surely? And what difference does it make?
In terms of accuracy it makes a difference and that it would need to be done by a third party. The reports will all be different but must contain the same information and just confirm the process was done correctly. If they are going to be done by the traveller and by zoom then the whole thing is pointless.

But you cannot read it out.

More importantly, I know of three people who have used Zoom to do exactly that to head to Oz (before RAT became acceptable).

Here a USA source for PCR @USD90:

And there's no way of confirming that it's your spit is there? I thought it had to be nasal as well. Might explain why it managed to arrive here on supposedly negative tests.

Irrespective, such has been acceptable for travel to Australia.

What could possibly go wrong. Oh yeah, it did. I know we shouldn't aim for perfect but if such test procedures were allowed then this pre testing has all been a hoax. Hopefully it's all gone within a month as it's quite useless.

Just like it all goes away for Bali's re-opening. 5 days quarantine, no-one will do that, then they will do reduction to 3 days, same result. Then before mid year they will join the rest of the world and have no quarantine. Indonesia just wasting time and missing out on first rush of tourism in 2022.

In similar vein, hopefully by mid year Europe get rid of their Covid vaccination passport.

If you're going to do something dodgy, it would be easier to just save your spit and get or create a fake test result.

Cheers skip

Anyone heard any goss on QF re-starting any of their SFO flights.....

Starting to plan work travel out and would prefer not to go via LAX....

Agreed!

Anyway, as indicated to @hb13 self-administered Video supervised tests have been acceptable.

That's fantastic to hear, thanks Serfty! For me it is just about costs. Remote RAT tests with video supervision are about half the price of in-clinic or airport tests, which is part of the reason for me wanting to do that.

I'm sick and tired of the ridiculously overpriced tests in places like the UK, when in the EU as an example, testing for travel is actually free for residents there.

Italy removed test requirements for vaccinated travellers as of today also. Following what the EU has set, vaxxed shouldn't require testing. Hopefully others follow suit shortly.
Wow that's great. Though I note for non EU countries they're extending restrictions through March.

Hopeful that this is accurate, and not just biased rubbish from a company with interests in travel resuming. If it is accurate, I really hope governments start paying attention.

I wasn't necessarily opposed or pro travel restrictions at the start of the pandemic, at the end of the day I'm not qualified to have a meaningful opinion one way or the other - but with some countries announcing that pre-departure testing has no meaningful impact on the spread of new variants one can be hopeful that it will be dropped everywhere in the near future.

Unfortunately in Australia I think it will be a purely political decision based on the next federal election, which is a shame.
