If you are fully vaxxed you can go straight out into the community. The test at 24-hours and 7 days does not require you to isolate while waiting for results :)

edited: ohhhh... I see - under that it says you can't go to a high-risk setting such as aged care or to a hospitality venue for 7 days! (how many people will read down that far??)

Precisely zero people. And who’s going to enforce it.

And the cheapskate in me also tends to getting free government test before getting a T-48hr fully documented test, to avoid laying down $150-200 for a documented test, in case positive... (risk is low, but still..)
Last time I was tested at the Government center/ drive through I asked about getting the results and was advised that if I requested the certificate for travel it would be sent to me. Closer to the travel date and if the PCR testing is still required I will most likely get tested a month or so out just to get the certificate and see if it meets the requirements and how long it takes. If it does will get tested again with whatever the required time frames are.

I think in SA I read that it is free for travellers.

What are your thoughts about SA? Family from UK are returning in January. @jase05 - any inside thoughts?

Employers in those locations likely obliged to enforce it on own staff
Yep that's 100% what will happen IMO. If my employer tries it I'll be hoping to go leave without pay for that enforced extra week...luckily I can currently afford to do so to keep my annual leave, assuming I can get them to agree.

Today, the TGA determined that Covaxin (manufactured by Bharat Biotech, India) and BBIBP-CorV(manufactured by Sinopharm, China) vaccines would be 'recognised' for the purpose of establishing a traveller's vaccination status.

We had many SIN-SYD flights on BA 15 and virtually always it landed just after 5am.Was a race with one of the QF A380s who would be first in.

Certain specific flights have authority to land on 34L only between 5 and 6. BA15, QF2 and SQ221 being three of them (and QF12 not). If 16R is required, they hold until 6 to avoid ruining my beauty sleep.

Who knows what our three wise monkeys will sdo in SA. IIRC SA signed up to the original national plan to open up at nationally 80% and cannot remember if was 16+ or 18+. Then it seem to move to 80%, 16+ in SA and we will follow the health advice and home or hotel quarantine cannot be ruled out. If I am not mistaken, I think the current position to enter SA without any type of quarantine is 90% 12+. I would just like to get to SYDS and back over christmas without the need to undertake 7 days of home quarantine on return.

After November 23rd things will get better for us here and we have booked tickets to CBR at Christmas to visit my parents and I’m absolutely certain all quarantine will be done and dusted by then. McGowan might lock us out but I have no real intent to go there other than work appointment. I would also suggest that the week before Christmas will see the end of ALL quarantine for fully vaxxed domestic and international.
We are a tad slow but I think we will get there

Hopefully had a points earning CC.🤣🤣
That much coke works out at over 4,000 cans per day - not even considering the alcohol. How is that possible?

Well missed all the fun, been back into the office today, anyone tell me what the current state of play is for people arriving back in SYD and transiting to CBR?

The entire hotel's mini bar tabs from all the rooms for the entirety of HQ? Guess there was just one outstanding bill left to put it all on o_O
Worth checking the provenance of the article 😉

Vaccinated Travellers

Vaccinated travellers returning from overseas are able to enter the ACT subject to the following requirements:

  • Undergo a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of arrival in the ACT.
  • Undergo a second COVID-19 test between days 5 and 6 after arrival.
There are additional restrictions on entering high-risk facilities in the ACT (including hospitals, correctional and detention facilities, residential aged care facilities, and some other residential facilities). These restrictions still apply to anyone who has been overseas in the previous 14 days. Should these restrictions apply to you, you will need to request an exemption directly from the facility.

Interesting last sentence. May cover mercy palliative at least

Thankyou. That’s fantastic.

The exemptions went to BA (15), QF (2) and SQ (?) - but only in the Northern Summer (our winter) - because a flight from London will effectively get here two hours earlier (they are +1 and we are +10, compared to +0 and +11 in our summer).

Importantly, they are scheduled to arrive prior to curfew. This is not an option for aircraft scheduled to arrive after 0600 to land early.

This definitely did not apply to SQ221 today. They either were classified as freight, got a one off exemption, or just paid the fine.

I am surprised now VIC has fewer requirements for international arrivals than NSW, I wonder whether VIC will align their approach with NSW soon.
