Predictions of when international flights may resume/bans lifted

I am not after a position in cabinet, I would like to be the 'Grand High Poobah'. First order of business, relocate all the anti vaxxer's to a common location either WA or QLD springs to mind, close these borders and open up the rest of the country. :p

Surely there is an obvious spot already well established in NSW for antivaxxers - something to do with a 'Bay'? ;)

I had first Pfizer jab on Monday, second booked for 7th June. Great news given I thought I would be end of the year. Offsetting that is now that I am soon to be fully vaccinated, feel trapped even more.

Similar position. By the time we're allowed to go anywhere, we'll need another one. So what was the point? Even I'm thinking that... and I'm hardly the norm (based on polls and corona-crazies). I can see why people are apprehensive. This is why we need a plan.

On the 'towing the company line', at least if there is an outbreak I won't die.

Don’t rule yourself out of cabinet so quickly. There will be several new positions to fill - Minister for First Suites, Minister for Business Class Lie Flat Beds, etc. These would be hands on roles, none of this ‘Canberra Bubble‘ nonsense.

Just popping out to collect the next batch of campaign t-shirts with their catchy new slogan ‘No representation without vaccination’. :)

Your 🎶"Cheer, cheer the...Time to open the borders party" tune will need some work.

And some nominations if I may:
- @jb747 as Minister for HR and business employment.
- @Cruiser Elite as Minister for Foreign Affairs and Champagne. Potentially in a tight preselection battle with @PineappleSkip
- @Princess Fiona as Minister for Health and Platinum Services
- @Mattg as Minister for Priority Boarding
- @Melburnian1 as Minister for Statistics and ontime departures
- @RooFlyer as Minister for Small Pacific Islands
- @Pushka as Minister for Taste
- @Dr Ralph as Minister for Finance, credit cards and scam awareness.

and

- @JohnM as Minister for the Aged and Women. 😁 Sorry John.

On the Front Page of tomorrow's Australian there's a small article "No-limit domestic travel push". The NSW Premier reckons vaccinated or not, "Australians should be able to move freely around the country". Yet, more evidence that Gladys Berejiklian will be the most likely Premier to approve easing of international border restrictions first.

I disagree with Gladys on this.
Once enough people have access to vaccines I hope that mandatory vaccinations for domestic travel come into play. The anti vaxxer nut jobs can stay at home

She thinks that any "vaccination passport" should be for international travel only. Regardless of whether all her ideas make sense, she is clearly the Premier most keen to open things back up.

I agree with this because this would be a carrot. Something to really encourage vaccination.

Have a friend that lives in Hong Kong and she said that the government has dangled a carrot by allowing bars, restaurants, cafes etc to operate with eased capacity restrictions provided all staff and customers have had at least one jab. The restaurant she was at the other night was allowed 50% capacity and allowed to stay open until 2am. Patrons have to sign in with a government app and produce vaccine certification.
I wouldn’t be against something like that here

Pity we don't have enough hospitality staff in the country anymore though! ;)

I'd support something even more focused on the people who need vaccinations rather than the restaurant business owners - no in restaurant service allowed unless you are vaccinated or have proof of medical exemption (as in, you medically cannot get a vaccine - not sure why this is hyperlinking to something). I feel I need to add (although this is stating the obvious), none of these rules can be made until there is actually supply as that would not be fair to anyone. I get my 2nd AZ in a couple of weeks and very much looking forward to being fully vaccinated. Happy to get a booster whenever required.
