RTW trip, using only commercially scheduled flights and returning to departure point in under 50 hours 45 minutes (subsonic record is 53 hours 14 minutes). Trip to be more then 22,750 miles.

Some years ago, AirNZ had a companion special for an ATW using their (then) two London services. One flew AKL-xLAX-LHR & vv), the other AKL-xHKG-LHR (& vv).

I think Kiwi Flyer did it in a weekend.

Couldn't you go around the world just flying DEL-SFO-DEL on Air India? Both flights travel eastbound to take advantage of winds, so you would actually circumnavigate the world.

You could do it in 36 hours & 15 minutes.

The whole idea is totally abhorrent to me, unless you also include a minimum SC earn.

That's hardly a 'true' RTW. Need to cross the equator to qualify, I would suggest.

Hence the 22750 mile minimum in the OP.....presumably!

(Given an equatorial RTW would be 24900 ish setting a minimum distance like that would necessitate crossing the equator....without such a caveat you could go up to 60 N - think HEL- and go RTW in half that distance...)

Found one that's 50 hours 37 minutes. (could be shorter if a 40 min connection was possible at LAX)

LHR-PER-MEL-LAX-LHR from late next march :)

Lots of people in the video comments tossing out routes that are impossible (no consideration of MCT). Some people are expecting to connect in 20 minutes.
