The plat helped but I think the stroller is a big indicator for the airline to up their game and service

Strollers and infants are the VIP card to every airline I've flown since being a dad.

If an airline wouldn't show flexibility towards me with an infant - they'd be on my no-fly list for life, and I'm sure many other parents would feel the same way.

Funny thing is I was actually contemplating leaving stroller behind in Sydney for dad to take back home. Wife had 2 backpacks so we could have taken important things from luggage.

Worked out well in the end.

I have found QF consistently good if I made it to the airport in time to check in but too late to check luggage.
I have always ended up on a later flight at no cost.
So far.
I would never count on it, though.
In all cases I had status, but never a baby stroller.

Time to start dragging a stroller along? ;-)
In addition to requesting a wheelchair, and wearing a fake military uniform you could have a pretty cruisy journey!

The rumour that I sometimes park in "parents with prams" bays because I am a parent, and there is a pram somewhere in my shed, is entirely malicious.

I'd like to think this is an unpublished perk of Platinum but also knowing staff at various airports.

Last Friday week travelling back to SYD from BNE a day after the bad weather. Wife and I not on same flight as they were booked months apart and huge difference to get her on my flight. Wife was on flight 30 minutes behind me.

Went to normal check-in together and asked nicely if they were flow forwarding and if so can she move wife to my flight. Got the lecture that they were flow forwarding the day before and not today and can only move her if tickets allowed. I said to her they won't allow and she confirmed. I cheekily checked in luggage and pram on my flight so I can have these ready when I arrived.

Went to the new premium check-in and asked if there was any chance they could move wife and daughter to be with me. Took one look at boarding passes and loads and moved them to my flight in 5F and blocked off 5E as I was in 5D.

I don't expect this to happen often but makes Platinum worth it when these things happen. It could also help that particular staff member has seen me many times over the years and adores my daughter. Either way the assistance greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know if a WP on a QF A380 in Y+ can select 24A/B or 24J/K the front row (also exit row) of Y+ from time of booking? Looking to book Qf7/8 and premium is filling up but EF shows that some of the above are free. So wanted to see if its a benefit or not.

Yes, I was able to select 24A when my SYD->HKG flight for end June was swapped to an A380. The other seats mentioned were also available to me.

Lost my previous selection of 36K when it was swapped back to a B747 :(

Is this permissible? That would be great!
It definitely is and I take full advantage of it. Often I'm grabbing a quick coffee or etoh to survive the train down to Wollongong, or grabbing coffees for whoever is picking me up.

Hello, fellow WPs! A tip for the new players, and just a fresh piccie for the rest of you. Don't forget when you re-qualify WP to call up and ask for your entitlement of new QF bag tags, if you want / need / like them. They don't send them out automatically after your first qualification, if you don't call and ask! I reckon they're looking pretty good, these days:

Cheers,
Matt.

The QF coasters are probably one of the worst looking bag tags issued by a major airline today...

And for those who may have missed it.. QF's newletter states only QF and JQ(JQ/3K/GK/BL) group flight *numbers* will qualify for the Plat Bonus Reward (aka 2400 SCs) from March 13, 2018.

Where in the newsletter was the above hidden? Maybe only for those who are WP or higher?

T&C have been updated. Note that you will only have 90 days to choose from the day you become eligible. DSC also excluded...

This is disappointing. I guess this year will be my only chance to qualify for the Platinum Bonus Reward (and I might not make it). I can't see myself getting to 2400 SC on QF (excluding DSC).
