Philippine Airlines Now Bookable With Qantas Points

Makes sense the points are higher, as they are a partner award.

A bit odd that the PR fuel fines are more than QF's. Might be a sign of the current times, but still odd. Overall, looking at the same BNE-MNL sector I randomly searched, if I had a choice between PR Y or QF Y, notwithstanding my status I'd probably take QF Y for the lower cost overall. PR's product wouldn't be vastly superior compared to QF.
As a QF WP flying whY, the obvious choice would be QF for lounge access and other perks. Booking PR whY, you’d get zero.

If the PR dom flights come thru, you should still be able to book them on one ticket QF->PR?

It is odd, but I would note that PE also has the same fuel fines (and thus copayment). Not sure on J as I'm yet to actually find an example...

You might be onto something there. So much for the article's claim of, "Economy, Premium Economy and Business".
This was the info provided by Qantas unfortunately. Not going to say definitively otherwise, but it's very odd that there's no J to be found.

Perhaps giving preference to QR at this stage?
Good J availability to HNL and LAX and some Asian ports with Avios
Some smatterings of Australian availability too

It would be interesting to know if that availability was there on Day 1 or came later? Probably have to go back to some of the bloggers etc to see what they said when the QR partnership started.

Seems as though there's hardly if even any business class reward redemptions available on PR.

If that's the case, then this is hardly worth a mention.
Maybe just teething problems.
As mentioned by myself and others QR has good availability so hopefully for QFF patrons they release a similar amount to QF.

That’s a possibility (re teething issues).

I just noticed that zero PR seats show on the multi-city search for say LAX-MNL or SFO-MNL (not even whY), but they’re there on the regular search - albeit, still only whY.

We saw similar behaviour when EK rewards disappeared around the time they change rules for kiddies in F and only QF PS+ could book F. That seems to have settled down (including F all the way from Oz to Europe).

Hopefully some J seats do start to appear because it could be a good way to get back from Nth Am. At the moment, you can get premium CR seats over but very little back…

Wonder why he refers to earning as well. I haven't seen anything to suggest that you'll be able to earn.
It was originally put to AFF that it was going to be earn and burn, but later confirmed to be just burn.

Also, AFF understands that Business Reward seats will be available soon (should be in the next few days), but at this stage only Y and PE availability is showing.

Also further to this, for some reason on BNE-MNL you'll see zone 4 pricing for QF but zone 5 for PR - AFF understands this is just a glitch, which gets resolved when you go through to booking.

Then it would be good for the original article to be corrected. Also would be good to list the carrier fees and put in a link to this thread. (The usual text is there, but it doesn't work.)

I wonder if it is possible to communicate with Qantas (to complain) about these issues?
