PC Glitches ie:Old Sydney HI for 10K a night ($70) at present

I think we'll find a more appropriate way to meet up if and when it comes to that ;)

Had to have a chuckle at this when I read it but I think there will be a fair few of us there, maybe we try and grab as AFF area! Possibly some FT members too, could be some interesting conversations.

Just had a stay on the weekend. Got upgraded to a king room as a PC base member. It's a little run down, but clean. The water pressure from the shower head is appalling. Great view from the rooftop. And the pool looks bigger in the pictures!

But hey, I spent so little points and $ on the room so not really complaining.

Can't complain hey! :)

I am still looking to keey my NYE booking. Looks like BNE for family with the good lady, SYD for Nye and BOB for honeymoon. Going to be hectic!

Should be fantastic on NYE. As ppl mentioned, get onto the rooftop early. The area is not really that big.

From the hotel room window, I could see part of the bridge and harbour, but this huge cruise ship (a different one each day) was blocking most of the view.

There wont be any ships blocking the view on NYE, although every day there is one leading up to it!

Just stayed there for 2 nights for the long Queen's Birthday weekend. Excellent location and views, especially during Vivid Festival where I don't have to fight with many people at Circular Quay and the rocks for viewing of Opera House. The rooftop swimming pool has excellent view of Opera House and Harbour Bridge, and there weren't many people when I went up there!

Having said that though, the hotel service is not the best and can be improved quite a bit. But the hotel is always full anyway with people always coming to the counter asking for a room for the night only to be turned away by staff. So I guess they are not worried about service ....

Also. it was absolute pain to get there by car on Sat night where there were so many people and cars on the street, and all the car parks are full. I underestimated the crowd coming to Circular Quay/The Rocks to watch SOH at night.

Still, great use of 10K points per night for stay.
 
Would be interested to know if there are still a few AFF and FT people at the OLd Sydney HI this NYE! A few seem to have dropped out along the way!

My wife and I will be there, I did have a call from HI Old Sydney a few weeks back and they were going to send me some information. Nothing has eventuated though.

Staying at Hilton Sydney on the 28th, flying out on the 1st on our honeymoon. :cool:

I'm there. Booked three rooms for friends and family. Staying 3 nights before leaving on NYE. Would love to do a catch up on the nights of the 29th or 30th if other AFFers are around? I'm a bit booked up for NYE itself?
 
I made a three night 30K reward booking from 29th-1st which I was hoping to use.

Alas I cannot even though I am in SYD on the 31st.

I can cancel the award and be re-credited the 30K.

My plans for the 30th are still up in the air...may even go home and sleep in my own bed;) but I will definitely checkin on 30th so may be able to catch up for a bite to eat somewhere:)

I meant I was leaving NYD not NYE. Surely a few of us can manage a meetup on the days before? Anyone else keen?

Plan change ...

Got a family member to take one room ...

Have a big lunch on the 29th (its my wifes birthday) but around that evening and the 30th for a catchup!
