Shame they don't fly anything from Melbourne. Just as easy really for Melbourne travelers with the new terminal at Tom Bradley to get 93/4 then on to Vancouver or Calgary with all the options of the daily service and have the benefit of a SoCal stopover.

I would describe any unnecessary transits through LAX as annoying, rather than a benefit...

And continue it will!: Qantas to take Australians to holiday in Bali this summer - Qantas News Room

A small paragraph at the bottom of this media release confirms a 4th season of our popular Vancouver services.

You may also note that the Early Bird Sale has been enhanced to include YVR for the first time. :)

You are cheeky with enhancements, aren't you :)

I must admit, with the improvements to Tom Bradley and even T2 (Canadian flights) I no longer have any aversion to LAX. Connections to YYC from early morning arriving QF flights aren't good though. Will still do QF direct to YVR in their season.

However, from PER, PER-HKG-YVR would win almost every day. MEL would definitely be better as a transit point than SYD. Unless starting in SYD.

Happy wandering

Would love a direct MEL-YVR option. Perhaps on a 787? Wishful thinking I know.
Will be trying out QF75 for the first time in Jan. I won't miss transiting through LAX but will miss the A380 and the option of requesting an F upgrade.

Transiting in Sydney is just as annoying as transiting at LAX these days.

At least SYD has the QF FLounge. Although Mrs B and I are quite partial to playing a game of chess in the AC lounge when transiting off QF93
