Firstly MOD I hope this meets the guidelines and the answers may help others?
If not delete.

I have tried Google and Whirlpool.net.au for an answer.

Windows 7 Pc with Outlook 2010
Windows 10 Pc with Outlook 2010

Want to transfer pst file via Outlook Export and import.

Got the Export file that is 4.1GB in size.
Taking ages and prompts of not responding appearing when attempting Import this file.
Is this normal, how long should it take if successful?
Pc is Dell 9370

The email address is the same on both Outlook pc'd

The last time I had this problem, the original PST file had been in use for years, with lots of deletions, attachments etc and seemed to have data integrity issues. So on I ran clean up on the mailbox file (from memory on the tools menu), and then re-exported and it worked (and was about half the size).

Appreciate the post...... Just don't want to lose anything from the email account if I run clean up?

Actually I have the file copy as stated.
I did try the copy the pst from the windows 7 Pc location and import on Windows 10 but that did not work either :(

From memory - you need to close outlook on the new PC, locate the folder where the new empty .pst resides and copy the old .pst across to the same* folder (rename if nesessary).

Open outlook on new PC, go to settings. My account then myaccout (different "my account") and add existing .pst.

Set this one up as where you receive emails.

*for consistentcy, not essential.

If you have a copy of the existing *.pst file from your Win 7 machine in a directory on your new Win10 machine you should be able to just open Outlook and then
File --> Open & Export --> Open Outlook Data File, locate the directory containing the file, choose the file, press OK and wait a while. Is that what you are doing?

You don't need to import/export if both clients are running Outlook. Export changes the format.
Just copy the pst file across and open it.

If your mail is all on the mail server, then just configure the new PC and let it sync overnight. Beats messing with importing/exporting (Vandelay Industries? :) ). Also, makes much more sense keeping your mail server side. Ie if your computer goes belly up, you lose your mail (unless backed up, but again painful).

Left pc all night and error message appeared this morning

Update
Emails loaded to Laptop but the message.......

Error Ox800CCCOCE: Outlook can't synchronise subscribed folders for ******@bigpond.com
Error cannot connect to server contact isp

Internet working on other pc

No Folders displayed even though during the copy process each folder appeared to be found and appeared to be loading. Also Outlook is off-line. Unable to find server. Internet is working.

Suggestions to fix please?

Please assist anyone?

Looking at this as solution:

I had the same issue when trying to connect to my gmail account. The way I solved this issue for me was to follow the following steps.

GO to OUTLOOK
1) Navigate to File >> Options >> Advanced >> scroll down to the send/receive heading >> click on the send/receive button on the right
2) On the right hand side of the send/receive groups window that opens click on the Edit button
3) Un-check the "Get folder unread count for subscribed folders"
4) under Received mail items, check the option "User the custom behavior defined below"
5) In the window below that displays your Gmail folders just select inbox and leave the others unchecked
6) click ok and then exit out of options and perform a send/receive to test if it is now working

Edit: I thought this video would action the above but I'm told that the "Ok" and "Cancel" are not showing as per video? Anyone know why no "OK and "Cancel: Outlook 2010.

Edit2: Worked out that had to reduce the Screen scale to 200% to be able to see the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons.
Then completed the above that got the issue again and offline? Said Telstra SMTP was 993???? Reset to original settings before YouTube video and got emails for "yesterday" and found old folders!
Now it is showing Sync subscribing folders but going from 30sec to go to 3 minutes on send and receive??

So now seems to be working but new issue is that on the right side the same email address and folders are shown twice?
How go I remove:
Outlook Data File and their first email address????

How do you get the left side bar from:

Outlook Data File
[email protected]
Inbox
Outbox
Sent
Delete

[email protected]
Inbox
Outbox
Sent
Delete

to JUST this:

Outlook Data File
[email protected]
Inbox
Outbox
Sent
Delete

I saw right click and "close file" but concerned it will delete both addresses?
When I went to file--->account settings--->account settings--->Email address--->[email protected] only had one?
