I don't usually get too precious about where I sit, but one seat I do hate is that Y seat with no window (and therefore no recess) that crams you into the person next to you with no room to turn around (I'm not "big", horizontally or vertically, but I am pretty broad shouldered).
I had to fly to BNE from SYD this morning. I only found out on Monday and so booked flights then. First few rows were booked up (I'm WP, so get yX selection), so I opted for the Exit Row instead.
When I selected the seats were purple, and I even had to sign the declaration.
When I turn up this morning, the plane has changed, so I get the same number, but a coughpy seat. No legroom, up in the middle so takes ages in and out, and no window (and therefore width) either. I also noticed that yX seats weren't i the first few rows, so they were short changed too.
I get that travelling in Y is not the Ritz. But it was a hell of a downgrade, and it did p*** me off a little. VA could have at least notified me beforehand that exit/yX was no longer available, so I could get a better seat at check-in (flight wasn't full).
What are others thoughts on this?
