Yeah, it’s late, I have a headache, and don’t know all these aeronautical terms… now where’s that stewardess with my G&T :p

Gee:!: What an old, gender specific, outdated term! :D ;)

Well.... I don't mind who pays for Oprah to get here....... As long as I get tickets to see her again!

I don't care either .... so long as its a return ticket :p

Its always fun having a circus come to town every now and then.

It's great that she is finally coming out to Australia.

Thanks for the link Jen, l have entered.

It is a pretty slick promotion for all involved.

Qantas - get's all the plugs about "the wonderful service we had all the way to Australia. the service was wonderful...."

John Travolta - in his uniform all over US TV again and keeps his royalties ticking over

Oprah - creates another amazing experience on her show and gets more fans & viewers.

Australia - plenty of coverage. Those 300 audience members have already told 10 of their friends who then told another 10 connections etc.

Heaps of Twitter posts oprah & australia.

Then consider the 1,320,000 google results posted in the last week.

The numbers are slowly heading towards the Oprah House being the tipping point for the next tourism growth phase.

My next challenge is to find a ticket for Mrs Alby and a friend.

Alby
(I admit to never having watch an Oprah show but appreciate a good marketing piece when I see one.)

Ugh you couldn't pay me to hear her warble on to her minions.

But it will be great for tourism :)

Well... I have seen Oprah 3 times in Chicago and have LOVED every time!

There is NO way I will not see her in Sydney.... I am 100% confident I will get tickets courtesy of Qantas!

Maybe plat or centurion concierge can help you get tickets?

Assuming you have one of them.

I am 100% confident that SWMBO wants to be in the audience. My mission seems to be maximise chances of getting tickets from the lottery!

I think the 40million viewers and the syndication across the US will be a slightly better advertising tool than word of mouth ;)

Certainly put those into the mix. I also think that this will have a magnified impact because of the audience surprise trip and all those Australian mavens going home and
spreading the word for years to come.

Do peope think they hype has died down alot lately, or is it still big news in the US at the moment?

I have no doubt the american audience is very excited about the trip to Oz. For years I've heard the 'yanks' exclaim to me when I say where I live, 'I've always wanted to go there', followed by 'but it's so expensive and such a long way'.

It remains to be seen what the tourism flow on is. I think the audience are very lucky indeed no matter what I think about everything else.

I wonder if Oprah will be flying the A380 to Australia?

If she is she might not arrive in December!

Not really that fussed but will enter the lottery tomorrow too, at least that way there's better odds someone from AFF will be going.

Sorry to be the negative one again but do people actually think this is going to provide a boost to tourism in this country?

So all these years spending millions and millions on overseas advertising trying to promote Australia has not done very much for our tourism when all we had to do was bring out Oprah for one show and all the Yanks will start flocking to Australia for their holidays.

Already working. Hotel bookings In Vienna, from US tourists are way up!!! :D
