Marriot packages still seem decent value even without though

I am thinking of doing 540,000 Marriot points to redeem a tier 5 hotel for 7 nights. There are no category 1-5s for where I want to visit. The same hotel would cost 420,000 pts for 7 nights so it would be 120,000 marriot pts for 132000 miles. Is this worthwhile?

Yes. That's like 40,000 SPG points for 132,000 miles.

Agreed. Wish I had more Amex MR points.

The only drawback for me is Courtyard by Marriott in Pattaya is a long way from golf bar and I am a lazy starter in morning.

I got my 20,000 bonus United points before Christmas from redeeming the 270,000 Marriott package.
