Am getting the fatal error when I enter name and phone number and click to next page to go to pay, so will have to try this on the phone.
Is it permissible to book a 318k oneworld J award without any QF segments? am planning to use a mixture of QR, BA, JL, AY, and possibly RJ.
1) ADL-LHR
2) LHR-NRT-MEL
3) SURFACE
4) BKK-HEL
It seems like I can't make a OWA booking on the Qantas website with more than 2 surface sectors. I understand that I am limited to 35000 miles and 16 sectors (flight and surface) in total, but is there also a limit in the number of surface sectors I'm allowed? Would like to avoid calling Qantas to book if possible... But will obviously bite the bullet if I can have more than 2 surface sectors if I book over the phone.
Cheers!
Mattg your article is excellent and I’m sure I read it in my preparation/planning but must have forgot that piece of information. Do you know if it’s possible to have more than 2 surface sectors if you call through to Qantas to book instead?
Think this is your problem, with ADL/MEL (even though surface sector MEL)Am getting the fatal error when I enter name and phone number and click to next page to go to pay, so will have to try this on the phone.

I'm sure there is a joke in your comment that is going over my head here hah. Are you implying that when booking the OWA on the phone the incompetent operator will say Nordic Regional Airlines isn't allowed?Cape Town is waiting for your call.
I would keep expectations fairly low. HUACA, a few times, perhaps. Anyway, good luckI'm sure there is a joke in your comment that is going over my head here hah. Are you implying that when booking the OWA on the phone the incompetent operator will say Nordic Regional Airlines isn't allowed?

We have Nordic Regional Airlines flights in our upcoming itinerary - they are definitely in OW, and with an AY flight number I doubt you'll have anyone questioning thatI'm sure there is a joke in your comment that is going over my head here hah. Hi everyone, does anyone know how borrowing a bassinet might work on JAL or or just partner airlines in general? Do I need to call up JAL and request specifically?
I think you could see whether there is award availability on flights SFO-LAX and see whether you can get that added top the itinerary provided it doesn't break the OWA rules, but I doubt you would get QF to pay for a free revenue flight for you - and the partner airline will not go out of their way to make it up to you.My flight from SFO to SYD end of Sep has been cancelled. I've been put on a LAX to SYD flight. It isa OWA. I tried to get them to put me on a SFO LAX flight on that ticket but they said they couldn't as it wasn't QF metal. Does anyone know if that is true. In the past when I had a cancellation they requested that a partner airline release a rewards seat. They also said I could get compensation from Qantas Care for the flight I have to purchase. Is that likely the full cost of flight or some percentage?
There is availabilty, the operator suggested a flight and came back and said it couldn't be done. I even offered to take a Y seat but she said they couldn't do it, as it wasn't operated by QF.I think you could see whether there is award availability on flights SFO-LAX and see whether you can get that added top the itinerary provided it doesn't break the OWA rules, but I doubt you would get QF to pay for a free revenue flight for you - and the partner airline will not go out of their way to make it up to you.
If you are on a OWA, have fewer than 16 flights, would not be introducing a sixth stopover, and would not be transiting the same city three times then it should be allowed without question. Maybe if you share the full itinerary we might be able to help? There is availabilty, the operator suggested a flight and came back and said it couldn't be done.
