One way business Sin - Syd

Does anyone know roughly the price of a economy - business upgrade at the gate in Singapore?

I did a upgrade going Syd - Sin and it was $1400 AUD

Should I expect the same price on the return leg?

I wonder why you would do that (purchasing an economy ticket and then paying around $2,800 to fly in business, and earning points and status for the economy ticket originally purchased)? Wouldn't a straight out business class be far better?

The business upgrade was a gift for my honeymoon as I originally booked economy so we where able to upgrade

Looking to do similar on the way back

I wasn't 'questioning' your decision; I was merely pointing out that it appears, at least to me, there are more cost-effective and more beneficial ways to travel SYD-SIN in business than purchasing economy seats and paying about $1,400 for one way upgrade. I am sure you have had your own, very good, reasons.

I am not sure if SQ has upgrade bids, but I think you can use SQ miles to apply for upgrades (again, not a great use of SQ miles, but it might be an option in your case).

Was the $1,400 you paid on the way over the difference between the economy and business fare price? It certainly sounds that way to me.

Yep it was the difference in upgrading.

Ideally I would've booked business from the get go but was able to do it after our wedding

Was just seeing if any one has got a better deal before?
