Nearly back to a million for the second time, first million went on two RTW J flights with side trips -ahh what a holiday. Used holiday appartments opposed to hotels - worked very well. Next mill slated for retirement travel :D

I hit a million last year. It was nice to see two commas.

Then I burned a fair few on JASAs to PER-SCL-PER to do the Galapagos in May and PER-JNB-PER earlier this month to go to Kenya and Rwanda, plus a couple of dom JASAs and UPGs for myself and PartnerJohnM earlier in the year. The upcoming DONE4 will haul me back towards half a mill.

But I will be happy to see a few go away on Monday if the UPG request to F MEL-LHR comes through ;).

I finally got there last week.

Those 2 commas look good. 1,000,000+ QFF points.

The big question in my mind right now.

"Is Qantas going to be around when I am ready to use them in a few years?".

How many toasters can you get for that?

well done! Unfortunately I never thought about keeping a tally of points I have amassed and spent over the years, would be quite interesting to see.

Congrats! 1m, quite and achievement!! are you going to start to burn?? I've just burned 550k on J to LAX return for 3 of us. 3 years ago I burned through about 300k for Y on same route.

Good work John, I can't seem to reach 100k, I always end up burning them on upgrades and JASA's before I get too high.

Well done on your 1Mill earn. Like others I did reach 1Mill at one stage but spent on a family trip to Disneyland. I also lost many points on the Ansett debacle.
If you using the points as a "retirement bank" and you think Qantas may not be around in future then you may be better off using the points now and putting the cash equivalent of the airfares in your retirement super account.

I think one should diversify their miles/points a little bit. 1 million eggs in one basket is slightly risky..

Congratulations JohnK.

I have done the opposite and spent most of mine. (I currently have built all the way back up to 38,000 and Sue has less than 1,000)

Yes: -a good acheivment. How many have you used in rewards/upgrades ?

However even if QF is around when you want to use them, they almost certainely will be devalued compared to today, such is the way with FFP's enhancements.

And I hope someone has your QF freq flyer number & QF pin, in case you do not make it out of the 19th some time (you have my personal email address :p )
