I hear that Muscat is fab.
Muscat was amazing- went there on the way to Germany in September. Would have no hesitation to go back! One of the highlights was a musical instrument museum in the Opera House! Friendly, efficient and certainly more tolerant than other neighbouring countries. Hopefully Singapore proves popular and wide-bodies start and I don’t have to go all the way to Manilla next time for the connection!

They’re only a small airline with about a dozen wide body aircraft. With no new orders on the horizon the only chance of SIN getting them is if they are pulled from another route which is doubtful IMO

Our recent (late August 2025) experience SYD xMNL MCT is that there are no/ very minimal hotels around Terminal 1.
WY844 "boards" 0645 and departs 0745 Manila for Muscat.
We opted to stay at the Belmont Hotel close to Terminal 3 QF arrival and walkable from the airport via 220m Runway Manila (though sometimes a bit confusing signage).

Not true that there are minimal hotels close to T1 NAIA Manila.

Grand Westside Hotel in Paranaque is less than 10 minutes from T1 if the Grab/taxi uses the Skyway. It has at least 500 rooms open. Will have 1500 when complete, plus (yet another) casino.

Kingsford Hotel is next to GW, separated by a small creek.

Okada Hotel is in the eponymous casino complex a few minutes' walk from the above two. Okada has a Medley Buffet for all three meals ex day: expensive by local standards, but very good.

Does anyone have any useful email contact addresses for Customer Service - or higher - at Oman Air? I have been trying for 2 months to get a response - any response! - out of them for service deficiencies in Business Class. Very simple cases, easily resolved. Nada!
