Oman Air joins Oneworld in 2025

11 hours..... I would go grab a hotel. The lounges are not somewhere you can spend that long.
Thanks for the suggestion. I was wondering if that was feasible. Just trying to find one close enough to Terminal 1 that we don't need to risk the traffic jams.

Our recent (late August 2025) experience SYD xMNL MCT is that there are no/ very minimal hotels around Terminal 1.
WY844 "boards" 0645 and departs 0745 Manila for Muscat.
We opted to stay at the Belmont Hotel close to Terminal 3 QF arrival and walkable from the airport via 220m Runway Manila (though sometimes a bit confusing signage).

"Getting to Belmont Hotel Manila from the airport is a breeze. Just cross Runway Manila, the bridge that connects Newport City to NAIA Terminal 3. It's a quick 15-minute walk followed by a short elevator ride, and you'll be greeted by friendly staff ready to assist you with a smile.
Guest favourites include the picturesque rooftop swimming pool with a bar overlooking the city, perfect for relaxing after a long day. Don't miss out on Cafe Belmont, a modern restaurant offering delightful meals that cater to all cravings, ensuring a satisfying dining experience during your stay.
"

Next morning we took a Grab (CASH ONLY!!!) from the hotel about 0430 to Terminal 1. Traffic OK given the early morning. Completed online check-in & travelling on Biz tix so only needed to do bag drop.

We will rinse and repeat the process with upcoming MCT-MNL flight but this time catch Grab/ Taxi from Terminal 1 to stay at the Hilton Manila a bit further away from Belmont Hotel/Runway Manila but still close to Terminal 3 for QF20 to SYD departure 2035 the following evening.
