Just come across this
Appears when you use Ola you get va points.

I will post my referral under the referral area but I have used Ola in Melbourne Sydney and Brisbane and saved me a lot on Uber especially using olapickup and olaopoff from the airports.

This is towards the bottom of page from the link above. Took me three attempts to link my accounts, kept coming up with an internal error notification.

This is pretty awesome, way better than Qantas.
We must be in a beta release - I didn't see it on my personal acc, but saw it on my work acc.

You earn 2 point per $1 AUD spent on trips to the airport and 1 point on all other rides.

There's 1000 bonus points for new ola customers if they link before their first ride!

Finally giving Uber some real competition.

You link your acc directly

I use Ola rather than uber anyway as they pay a greater percentage to the driver and are far cheaper for me to use. Spending $500 a month with them mainly from the airports so this is a real bonus.

Can you share a screenshot of what login looks like via Ola?

Open the Ola app ... go into the menu (on android its the 3 lines on the top left), select 'My Profile', then there is an option for Velocity Frequent Flyer account.
Hey mate, can you share a screenshot, wonder if my version looks different?

Did you get an email from Ola or Virgin? Is this for select users only? I was able to link my corporate account but didn't have the option for my personal. I wonder if they are A/B testing?

If they are cheaper to use, but pay a greater percentage to the driver, does that then not just mean they pay drivers about the same? After all, if the fares are lower, then there's less money to split at the end. I see more Ola drivers with Uber stickers as well than Uber drivers with Ola stickers as well.

True but if I am going to use Ola anyway then the drivers gain because I will use more often. Then I will get others to use and eventually they will be able to not give as many discounts to the ride user. All a matter of economics but I would rather not give more to the overseas consortium as against the local driver.

This is what the menu looks like. The menu did refresh 10 seconds after I opened the app and that was when the velocity link appeared for me.

I guess, though not to drag this any more off topic but you do realise they both hail from overseas, right?

Uber = San Francisco, USA
Ola = Mumbai, India

Shebah (but you need to be female) = Australia

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I had a healthy debate about this with a mate the other day. Ola pays taxes in Australia and NZ. Uber on the other hand does not. Both are International organisations.

You can get to the offer on the Velocity website. To save you clicking around -> Ola

Thanks for this. I'll try it out tomorrow night using the $25 flat fare home from the airport.

Is there a clause about not to be used with other offers for the 1,000 Points?

Saw this post yesterday and signed up. When I linked my Velocity account it gave an error, though when closing and re-opening the app my details were there. Being cautious I removed and re-added and same thing. So I then put in fake details and it said the details dont match and didn't save, so put in my details again which error'ed again but did save again.
Used Ola for the first time last night and when I checked my Velocity account this morning the bonus point and ride points had already credited.
The down side to Ola is you don't know the fare until the end of the trip, unlike Uber and you have to put in discount codes as part of the transaction.
FYI, I did use the "50NEW" code as a new member to get 50% off, so using codes doesn't seem to affect earning Velocity points.

Terrible weather in Sydney this morning so got my first Ola to work, points credited a couple of hours later. Had the app on my phone a few months now so was a good time to test it out!
