Thanks Markis, some great deals on Qantas at the moment. Looking like getting hubby's platinum status happening without even doing a status run!

Love JASA's - scored an ADL/BNE on QF656 Thursday for 24K and $107 (full points was 37K).

I realised we'd booked a JASA for two of us from Singapore for 100,000 points in July.

Hi There,

I am looking at booking a JASA - and carries the full business fare conditions.

Does that mean that if I was to cancel the ticket that I would get the full points & $$ paid refunded?

Regards,
Knid

yes. but you must call. if you do it on line you will get a voucher.

(note that some international business and first class fares have a $341 cancellation fee)

Actually some JASAs and FASAs have 100% cancellation fee, always check the applicable rules of your fare as they vary, at the time of writing JASAs in Australia are fine, different story if you are coming from the UK.

I'm guessing that it would be clearly stated in the conditions that it was the case. If the conditions were to change - would they only apply to new bookings?

The rules of a fare at the time of booking are applicable, even if the rules for new bookings may changes. )Although some fare rules these days refer to applicable penalties at the time of the penalty being incurred.

Once shoud always take a copy of the rules at the time of booking and retain until all aspects of the booking are complete.

Thanks - I think I will do that from now on.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Hi, I am currently trying to book return flights for 4 from Cairns to Santiago around 20th May to 20 June. We want to fly business class on the way there, however economy on the way back. When I used the above process, I have to select which class and then it only shows this class, unlike your snapshot where it shows all classes. I thought maybe there wasnt any business class seats. So went back on and selected business, but it only showed business. Ar you able to advise me?

Only domestic shows multi class, you would need to book your itinerary as two one ways.

I'm looking at a JASA with the following cancellation policy:

Does this policy mean that if I do a co-pay (eg. $100 and 10k points), if I cancel I will receive exactly that back? The wording "Any refund or credit is the Australian dollar value".

correct, but as I understand it you must do it by phone. if you do it on line they'll convert it to some ridiculous monetary value. my fasa to Hong Kong I think came to $1000 by voucher refund, but through call centre it was the 90k points plus the cash (less canx fee that applies to cheap ASAs)

Swell. Then I'm booking!

Guys

It appears I am not on the DSC email list - again.

What's your suggestion for the cheapest route ex-SYD for 10 SCs ?

Yes, it is ridiculous but I need 10 SCs to crack WP.

I have a MEL J trip in June netting 80 SCs but that leaves me with 10 SCs short !!!!

Another SYD MEL in discount Y would cost 10K points and $138.

? Wait for some JQ specials

I don't think I could get cheaper $$ from QF, or could I ?

Would appreciate some $-saving suggestions from AFFers

A J* flight (with bundle) Syd-Mel is probably going to be the chaepest option for 10 SC.
