One way of changing uniforms I guess.....but why bother changing mid flight?

No you’re not seeing things your hostie was wearing something different a minute ago

From e-travel Blackboard

http://www.etravelblackboard.com/index.asp?id=49270&nav=2

Passengers onboard 13 Air New Zealand international flights around midnight this Sunday evening, may look twice at their friendly flight attendant as he or she seems to wear one outfit one minute and a different one the next. Air New Zealand is planning a synchronised global changeover for its 5,000 uniformed staff in 49 airports and offices worldwide. From 12.01 (NZT) Monday 27 March, Air New Zealand staff will be asked to hang up their distinctive but dated Barbara Lee uniform and step into new sleek, stylish Zambesi threads.

A logistical challenge, the precision of the changeover time will mean crew on around 13 flights including three trans-Tasman sectors will change mid-flight. Unknowing passengers may see the seat belt light illuminated during their flight and asked to return to their seats in anticipation of expected turbulence while crew use the bathrooms to change.

This is certainly a big ask however it's their ball game. Should be interesting. 8)

I've seen QF crew change uniform from standard to Oriental variation to/from Hong Kong on several occasions.

Actually, now you mention it, I think I've seen Thai crew change as well. Don't know I have ever seen QF do a change on the way to HKG though.

Thai crew do a changeover on all long haul towards Thailand into more traditional dress.

Well the women do anyway!

I think its a stupid idea. Flights affected include some trans-tasman (they cant be serious?), from asia, from US.

Stuff like this really freaks me out man, I went to sleep one day in the Centra Auckland, woke up in the Crown Plaza Auckland.

Kind of like that time I stepped into this Police Phone Box in London to make a call, and wound up on Gallifrey.....

I must say that it seems rather silly to ask the crew to change mid-flight just to make sure everyone is wearing the same uniform wherever they may be. Do they think that pax will notice, let alone care?

If they changed into better service then I might get excited.

Forget the service. I would really get excited if they changed into nothing at all.

This thread has degenerated to the point where it is not funny anymore. It does not even belong in the playground!

If you want to discuss this sort of garbage it is best discussed by PM'ing each other.
